an Italian getaway
I can only agree with Angua.
But what tricks do these Italian perfumers have that they constantly awaken the longing for their country in us?
Okay, I admit: I was "thrown down the wrong chimney" back then!
Further south - perhaps somewhere between Vicenza and Padua or even in "La Serenissima," I would probably be better off.
Even here, of course, nothing is certain! Life remains in debt to the proof!
"AcquAdoro," created by Lorenzo Dante Ferro for Venetian Master Perfumer, carries this secret within.
For me, a little getaway with this fragrance is guaranteed. It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing: the journey heads south!
The fresh opening is also achieved here with lemon, orange, and of course again bergamot.
However, the sweetness of the orange prevails, and therefore the "Bizzeln," the tingling on the skin and in the nose that I dislike so much, is absent.
The entrance is thus beautifully soft yet refreshing.
A walk in a citrus grove is offered; there is always a little shade here.
The sunlight plays in the dark green, lacquered-looking foliage of the various trees and makes it shine: the aroma of ripe fruits develops under its warmth.
The garden carnation, with its beautiful spiciness always a bit old-fashioned, meets fully bloomed Damask roses: "AcquAdoro" reminds me at this moment of a fine older lady from a bygone era, wandering dreamily and somewhat shyly through a Victorian garden.
But only until the intensely fragrant flowers of jasmine and probably also white lily release their rich, sometimes even a bit intoxicating aroma in the evening and night hours.
The freshness of the top note pleasantly softens these strong scent intervals.
Here, a true artist and craftsman seems to showcase his skill.
Thus, "AcquAdoro" remains relatively light until a creamy-warm vanilla makes its presence known.
It adds a touch of elegance that distinguishes this fragrance from many other summer scents.
Amber further emphasizes this exceptional quality and brings a welcome sensuality in elegant interplay with that vanilla nuance - the gold in the name comes into play!
Now "AcquAdoro" shines!
I find here an exceptionally luxurious fragrance that is also a great companion for summer evenings or nights. It is not only fresh and zesty; it is also elegant and refined.
But it is also very suitable for a little getaway, a romantic "scent journey" throughout the day.
Conclusion: this fragrance composition has a healthy dose of "Ars Vivendi"!
A fully developed scent progression accompanies the normal durability of this unusual summer fragrance.
Only in the farewell phase does "AcquAdoro" become lighter and finer; it is a friendly and polite companion. However, in my feeling, it is rather a feminine being, given how soft and cuddly vanilla and amber appear here.
"AcquAdoro" will also feel itself adapting to the now beginning late summer with its golden lightness.
The harsh summer light gets a certain soft focus; gold and various shades of brown begin to enliven nature. Thus, this fragrance could possibly have a bigger presence in this ambiance than in true summer.
I will now have the opportunity to explore this further: I am very curious!
My sample is already in the starting blocks!
