Valentino Donna Born In Roma Intense Valentino 2023

Donna Born in Roma's creamier, nocturnal, denser, sweeter smelling sister! I get a very slight coconutiness in the background with a surprisingly indolic jasmine, which really really surprised me! The vanilla is a bit denser and "darker" than the original, a bit less "juvenile" if you will.

Longevity and projection are good, this gives me maybe 1 to 2 hours more than the original Donna Born in Roma, definitely a winter/fall scent as it could be a little too much in the heat with the heavy amber, vanilla, indolic jasmine combo.

I am quite happy with this flanker and I dare to say it's my favorite off the Born in Roma line! The jasmine here is absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth trying if the original wasn't quite for you or if you felt it was missing some depth.

This is actually the first from the Valentino DBIR line I bought. I tend to prefer the "intense" and "elixir" flankers for designers because they have more of a dark, sultry, or interesting edge and this is case is no different.

Compared to the original Donna Born in Roma EDP, the Intense version has a *much* sweeter amber-vanilla base which forms the majority of this fragrance's character. If you love vanilla and amber, I can't see you disliking this one. The jasmine adds a sweet and creamy white floral edge through the top and mid which fades to the background in the late drydown. The opening here has a juicy and fruity facet that I suspect comes from an unlisted note. It feels like juicy element I tend to get from other vanilla-base fragrances with a black currant top, so I'm guessing it's an unlisted black currant here too.

This is an incredibly sexy cooler-weather fragrance that is fantastic for fall and spring, but might struggle not to be a bit too cloying for weather warmer that cool (60F-65F max) spring days. Arguably very usable for winter or fall daytime wear, but a perfect date night scent which dries down to an alluring sweet vanillic base by the time you've finished your dinner date. This is one of the few fragrances I get consistently complimented on, which easily projects 1-2m for the first 1-2 hours before reaching moderate 1m projection for another 4-5 and dryign down to an eternal base which lasts until the next wash.

The next-day dry down has a bit of a milky creamy facet that I don't really like? But it goes away if you respray to top up the scent. Could just be my nose getting a barely-present animalic facet from the amber or jasmine though.

It's expensive for how simple it is, but it's an incredibly well done version of the DNA. They're overcharging for what's here, but I still thin a full bottle is worth it.

Delicious creamy vanilla-jasmine combination. Smells sweet and a little tropical with hints of coconut and banana. Lasts and projects fabulously, so would make an ideal everyday scent, perhaps most especially in colder weather. I didn’t expect to feel so strongly about this one, but I love it! It makes me feel very feminine and put together.

Before first spritz, I had high expectations of an enhanced or bolder version of the classic Donna: Born In Roma. I was taken by surprise and hit with an enormous amount of jasmine. Everyone's perception on scent differs, so I admit that I could be nose blind to the other notes in this fragrance. However, I am not nose blind to vanilla, amber or benzoin. All I can smell is a lukewarm jasmine and because of that, I was reminded more so of Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori. I love Born In Roma (classic) and Alien Goddess, but I cannot pull those impressions out of Born In Roma Intense. Be that as it may, this is not a terrible fragrance; just a very realistic take on jasmine. It's not until the end, you are vaguely reminded of the Born In Roma classic.

This is definitely a "night-out" perfume in that it's very heavy. It's interesting that there aren't any fruits listed in the notes because to me this is very creamy-fruity. I pick up some pineapple or mango in the first few moments. It almost reminds me of the air fresheners they use in Las Vegas casinos! Not necessarily BAD, but a bit synthetic and could easily lead to a headache. I will also say this isn't the most 'classy' perfume, in that it doesn't smell particular expensive/complicated BUT I think on the right person (and not oversprayed) it's a crowd pleaser. Definitely a date/club night scent.
