It quite funny that this gets an average of 7.5 and the majority of the reviewers hate on it. There are many colognes out there that have simple notes but smell more complex. I really don’t get the bubblegum thing either. For me this smelled similar to Most wanted by Azzaro but a little more Smokey and creamy. This is a great performer and pulls complements. Presentation is very interesting and the atomizer has nice distribution. I see this as a more masculine scent due to the smokiness. I would suggest try b4 you buy, but if you like a Most Wanted type DNA, go for it, this is a little darker and less sharp, and you will like the Smokey sweetness in the dry down.

A familiar buddy but grown up a little!

You know the feeling to encountering a cousin after few years and he's all grown up? I kinda get that feeling from this new Intense version of BIR. This is like smatching original BIR and Armani's Stronger With You together! It's really goooood! It lingers greatly in the air but doesn't scream or get cloying which is great! It's like OG BIR has grown up a little and at his mid 20s It lasts quite well, I got solid 7-8h each wear!

So good!

This fragrance is one of the best in the Valentino uomo line. The only thing that could be better than this is Valentino uomo yellow dream. This fragrance is vanilla heavy with lavender in the opening. I find myself reaching for it 3 days a week. The vetiver in the base just elevates it to a whole new level.

The "simple" that was very well built!

A perfume with great quality and very high "pleasantness". I really like sweet perfumes and this one falls into that category, but how can I say... It has a sweetness that is very different from other perfumes that I like. Perhaps the vanilla here is somehow lighter and I can feel the lavender part much more, bringing a refreshing/aromatic aspect. I agree with some colleagues who said that it is not a complex aroma, but it manages to do the "simple" of vanilla/lavender very well. After the dry down, you can still feel the lightness that the perfume transmits, but with some more "woody" notes... But still in a way very light!!

On my skin, I managed to get an OK - good performance, with projection and lasting power of (2h - 3h) and (8h - 10h) respectively. I would say it could be used more for cold weather (day or night) and those days with a bit of sun and a bit of a colder breeze, with an autumn vibe. I don't know if I can consider it a "party" perfume, I easily believe that it can be overshadowed by other perfumes out there with greater projection and sweeter aromas (vanilla, toffee, caramel, fruity, etc.).

If you already like perfumes that are a bit sweet and especially perfumes with lavender, it's worth getting to know and trying. Don't expect a totally unique, complex and innovative aroma from this one. What it delivers is a perfume that is very appealing to the public and a light and very pleasant aroma throughout its evolution. It's definitely worth having in your collection but also getting to know the others versions of Valentino Uomo line.

A Familiar Place

By far the best Uomo in the new era of Valentino, but comes with disappointment. BIR Uomo Intense starts out somewhat promising and then quickly crumbles due to lack of structure. If they could have maintained the 2nd phase of this fragrance a little longer, it would have been much more compelling. Instead, I was left with the dry down of a very familiar, synthetic men's "cologne". For a moment I thought I smelled Fan di Fendi Pour Homme, now sadly discontinued; likely due to the vetiver. I became very bored, very quickly due to lack of progression and originality. Valentino stated "ambery fougère with vanilla infusion". Just like Donna BIR Intense, I detect no vanilla here and need to really push my senses to smell amber. This is yet another good fragrance for the office, but had so much more potential.
