Valentino Donna Born In Roma Extradose Valentino 2025

People often say the original Born in Roma is a good inoffensive everyday perfume, but I never understood it. To me it's just scratchy, with undertones of a typical male cologne.
This one on the other hand fits my taste just right, it's like a perfected version of the same concept.

All the scratchiness is gone and only the good, feminine parts of the Born in Roma DNA are left. This is a bit more intense, but not in a suffocating way. The main note is a creamy vanilla with clean white floral backbone. Juicy and sweet accents of blackcurrant and rum complete the picture. Just like the listed notes say. It might not be the most special fragrance on earth, but I can't really think of something that smells the same.
The bright pink color of the bottle is very fitting, as it is an ultra girly and uplifting scent.

Let's face it, the most important question about a perfume is: Does it smell good? Do I want to smell like it? If it's super original and innovative, but doesn't fulfill this basic requirement, it doesn't even matter. Born in Roma Extradose doesn't go far beyond the basic, but it does them so well I don't mind.
It's honestly almost a bit confusing to me why exactly I like this so much. I guess sometimes something completely normal hits just right. Like your favorite bar of chocolate from the supermarket or a simple 10€ t-shirt that fits you perfectly and becomes a trusted staple until it falls apart.

Initially I tested this and felt it was too close to the OG to justify buying it. A week of testing has passed and the scent is better balanced now it’s recovered from shipping.

This is an eye rolling scent for me. I absolutely had to add this to my collection! I can’t get enough of it. I love the OG, but I can find the florals in it overpowering at times. Extradose is just a divine, boozy blackcurrant and vanilla. The lasting power is amazing, it projects really well and the scent is so comforting, addictive, intoxicating and indulgent! I can’t stop smelling this. It’s now one of my favourite scents!

I just wish I’d tested and bought this before buying a full bottle of Pink PP, as for whatever reason i now can’t tolerate mandarin notes. For me the OG and Extradose are the two best Donna’s!

This one might be the best in their collection, my second favourite from them was the gold one but sadly, it was a limited edition.

Extra Dose is a very vanilla and boozy forward fragrance, the boozyness adds that extra sweetness, it's so creamy as well and so addictive.

I had it as a sample and it will for sure be, my FIRST born in roma fragrance.

The other ones smelled indeed good, but never to the point of buying a full bottle, this one is such an exception ! incredible, couldn't stop smelling my wrist because it is THAT GOOD.

I'll preface by saying I have and adore the main DBIR. I don't find the opening or drydown of Extradose to be redundant at all. I can definitely see that it's a flanker, but it's different enough to have both, especially if you really love the original.
The rum is really noticable at first but this dries down to be really sweet and feminine, almost creamy. To me, it feels like that particular sweetness you get in the drydown of the original is amped up to the max in this one. It also lasts really well. It's one of those perfumes that seem to reactivate again once you step in the shower at the end of the day, or the next morning.
Also, I figured I would mentioned this - and I'm not saying they're dupes AT ALL, but I was detecting something really familiar at one point during the day and it finally hit me that this *tiny* little bit I'm sensing reminded me of Ralph HOT. Just the tiniest bit. They don't have any of the same notes so I'm not sure why I was smelling that.
Anyway, this is a love for me.

Balls deep in my fragrance journey, I tend to ignore some of the high profile designer fragrances, but the hype didn't lie on this one. First of all, the bottle is gorgeous and fun. I only have a 5ml decant but I could see myself buying a full bottle of this. DBIR Extradose definitely falls under the category of Perfume™ to me but it's super sexy - warm, sweet, lush... I've seen reviews saying this smells slutty and I completely agree, in the best way. You're getting laid wearing this. But I'm also wearing this to the office today and it seems perfectly appropriate here, too. Not a wear-around-the-house scent - this one is begging to be consumed by the nostrils of others. She wants attention, baby!

Love the fruity + floral opening, and the dry down is sweeter and grounded by the boozy notes. The whole experience is simply divine and delicious. Lasts a few hours on my skin, and ages on my clothes. I haven't smelled the OG nor any of the other flankers aside from Ivory (which was wayyy too floral for me - I only smelled it in Sephora and didn't test it on me, so can't speak to the dry down on that one) so I have no clue how to compare but this is amazing on its own. I also enjoy Burberry Goddess and Black Opium Le Parfum/Over Red, and I think this for sure falls in a similar category of scents.
