Unexpectedly good
Lately I've been clearing/trading my collection, and ive got this one on a trade, I really didnt expect much because this version didnt really have as much repercusion as the other flankers from the Uomo line, or as much repercusion like the Intense version.

Now with that said this on me smells like a really similar scent to Dior Homme Original (2011) Eau de Toilette , something I've been looking for a long time.

The iris in this one is really lipsticky, similar to both Dior Homme and Homme Intense, but its a bit lighter and airy, something I dont really mind.

It opens up with this sort of citrus and fresh lemon notes, something that caught me offguard, but later turns into this beautifull iris and some vetiver, that gives it some depth.

Longevity wise I get 6 hours on skin, projecting nicely for about 2-3 hours.

I would say this is usable more on colder days or maybe warmer nights.

Pretty unique compared to the other current Uomo line offerings.

Damn so good and sexy!
I love this fragrance: the interesting thing is that it doesn't seem a designer perfume at all, it could easily be considered a niche fragrance given its structure.
Regarding the fragrance, there's a promise that needs to be made - I'm referring to the new version (2021), which should have slightly changed.
The vibes remain the same, but with different notes; it has a citrusy opening followed by an heart of iris, vanilla, and cedarwood.
In contrast to the old version, which leaned more "chocolaty" with a more pronounced Gianduia accord in the heart, but personally, I also like this one.
The only downside is the performance: on my skin, it lasts less than 2 hours with poor sillage (tested multiple times). So, every 2-3 hours, you have to reapply the fragrance, or you won't smell it anymore.

King of Smooth or the Valentino man
The fact that this fragrance has only one detailed review is shocking. Maybe it's because I can't get it linked either and many end up with its predecessor, which not only has a different appearance (black cap instead of a gold-colored one), but also other fragrance notes, such as coffee.

I also wanted to buy the predecessor Valentino Uomo (2014) Eau de Toilette and ordered a 100 ml online, as an online store had the picture of the 2014 original. Nevertheless, this fragrance arrived here. And what can I say?
I'm not just keeping the fragrance, I never want to give it up.

You probably have to like iris to love this fragrance.
I do.
So I have Dior Homme Intense (2011), "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior", Dior Homme Original (2011) Eau de Toilette and also L'Homme and L'Homme Intense in my collection. Meanwhile, I also have Valentino Uomo Intense, which I will probably write a review about. Now you could say that anyone who finds iris so beautiful will logically also find this fragrance beautiful. You could also see it differently: If you own several bottles of an iris fragrance, you must have a good reason to buy or keep another one. Yes, there is one.

The closest is this fragrance Dior Homme Original (2011) Eau de Toilette, yet they are both beautiful and unique in a different way.
The VALENTINO is so incredibly soft, both in terms of the iris and the citrus at the beginning: bergamot and Italian lemon are mentioned in the top note, but I have never perceived bergamot and lemon so softly, so muted. It's almost like a vanilla-lemon cloud that evaporates quickly (vanilla is not a fragrance note) to immediately introduce the iris. Iris and cardamom then immediately take over the steering wheel and lead you to the most wonderful places, gently accompanying you for 5-6 hours. In my opinion, black pepper is usually found in the top note, but here it is in the base note. You have to read the fragrance notes and think about it to realize that this fragrance contains pepper, because there is nothing burning or pungent about it. This fragrance remains soft from beginning to end, so that black pepper is more of a support at the end and gives the softly evasive fragrance a certain, again very light depth. What I have already repeated several times applies to vetiver: Never smelled soft anywhere. So the title of my review is self-explanatory.

So: for a price under 100 EUR, you get a designer here that is absolutely perfect and the fragrance goes so well with the elegant bottle, which suggests a heavy but elegant women's perfume due to the color and shape. This is how I interpret this bottle in such a way that I believe Valentino is clear about what is being realized here: A men's perfume reinterprets the word "elegance" with. ("With" because DIOR had already done so with its Iris fragrances for men).

If you want to be a Valentino man, you should buy this Valentino Uomo. It's a handsome, gentle and elegant guy!

Valentino Uomo.....
After initial skepticism as to whether I should buy the fragrance at all, whether I could wear it, I finally bought it.
Why the skepticism in the first place? You know what it's like. Have a look here. Read something elsewhere. Listen to all the videos on YouTube and imagine what people are saying about it.
A hint of coffee. A little toffee. Somehow chocolaty. It should go in that direction.
Well, I already had the Uomo Intense. The bigger brother of Uomo EDT. And I liked it from the very first time I tried it. But then the EDT version with a toffee note? Can something like that work? I hesitated for a long time before finally testing it and then making a final decision.

So the day came. Off to the Douglas store. Testing. Hmm...... Wasn't bad, but didn't quite live up to its Intense successor. Of course I have slightly different expectations of an EDT. But it didn't really work out. This toffee monotony didn't go straight to my heart as a fragrance concept. It rather went through my stomach and I was craving cake and a freshly brewed mocha. So I didn't decide to buy it at first. That came a little later and not as expected.
So back to the Douglas store. But this time online, i.e. via the Internet for digital shopping. And then I saw the fragrance pyramid. Not what I would have expected. Especially as the bottle also had a more modern look. What had happened? Reformulation? The fragrance pyramid officially changed without making a secret of it? I found that interesting in itself. But how did I have to imagine it now? So, without further ado, I decided to order the fragrance digitally. I ordered the small 50ml bottle and waited. I already know my expectations when I see fragrance pyramids. Most of the time they suit my ideas. Sometimes a part is missing and I have to do more research or test and retest. Not this time.

I confess, what I got far exceeded my expectations.
There was not a hint of slightly sticky toffee coming out of the spray nozzle, as I had initially expected. I had briefly ignored the fragrance pyramid I had just seen. A very sensual, slightly romantic, discreetly appetizing fragrance that is suitable for everyday use wafted towards me. Oh yes, that's how it came back to me. The new fragrance pyramid.
A very nice EDT with a focus on cardamom. According to the fragrance pyramid as a base, paired with pepper. It may sound boring, especially for die-hard perfume collectors and wearers. But don't be fooled. Once again, everything has been done right.
Valentino Uomo has been upgraded conceptually.
From the oriental base, to the wonderfully soft-butterscotch hip, adorned with vetiver, and the beautiful slightly citrusy-fruity opening - this fragrance composition is a dream.

Generally speaking, you can't expect to be able to throw it around for meters. The fragrance is a flatterer. A diplomat, not a boxer. In cooler times, it lasts quite a long time for an EDT, around seven to eight hours. That's absolutely fine for this price range. Especially as I didn't notice anything synthetic. Something that some people might expect. Not at all. All-clear.
I recommend the fragrance for everyday wear. But Valentino Uomo also goes perfectly with festive outfits. A very good fragrance for all occasions. Even at home by the fire with a glass of wine and a good book.
There are no limits to your imagination here.

Valentimo Uomo EDT in a new formulation.
Delicately sensual. Diplomatic. A connoisseur of normality and world class.

The opening is different between this LOREAL version and the original - more citrus here. The dry downs, however, are very similar. Great fragrance.
