Moon Water
Ayura, a Japanese cosmetics brand dedicated to holistic beauty care, combines traditional and modern ideas.
They also create so-called wellness fragrances.
This one is meant to help refresh during the day, thanks to its natural ingredients. The scent is inspired by a "bath in moonlight".
It indeed smells very fresh and cool upon application. I can detect cypress, peppermint, and a slightly aquatic note. Then it becomes more floral; I notice tuberose and another floral note that I can't quite place, perhaps the "Queen of the Night". Since I don't know how that smells exactly, I can't really determine it for sure. In the end, the fragrance has a woody-fresh base note. I distinctly recognize cedarwood and vetiver, but there is no trace of the sandalwood note.
I find only the top note truly refreshing, which unfortunately fades quickly; however, it feels cool and clear, somewhat like one imagines a lake in moonlight.
But after a short time, a very soapy component mixes into the base note, which overpowers all the other fragrance notes and is not pleasant on my skin, a bit too sharp in my nose. Just like fish washed with soap, but I can get that note cheaper.
