Lilac Soliflore with a paintlike edge
Yves Rocher LILAS MAUVE, from the collection Un Matin au Jardin, reminds me a lot of the Demeter LILAC cologne--not the all-natural one (which I have never tried), but the regular line-up lilac. That one is very, very strong and can easily induce a headache if overapplied.

LILAS MAUVE is similar in that it really is a soliflore, but there is a difference: instead of the super-strong soap vibe of the Demeter composition, this new creation from Yves Rocher smells to me a bit like paint or glue around the edges. Upon application, I rather like that scent, and it makes me think that I could have become a glue sniffer. As LILAS MAUVE develops a bit, however, I find that the faint paint fume effect gives way to something less appealing to my nose. At this point, I start to feel that if I spray any more on, I may seriously develop a headache.

Needless to say, this is all a bit of a disappointment coming from a company which prides itself on its all-natural ingredients. Perhaps lilac must be constructed, like lily of the valley? I'm not sure, but for those looking for a better soliflore, I recommend Ineke AFTER MY OWN HEART, which does smell very natural to me. I even like it more than Frédéric Malle EN PASSANT.

In fairness, I must observe that this Yves Rocher eau de toilette costs a fraction of the price of either the Ineke or the Malle. To me the quality here is on a par with the Demeter soliflore colognes--which makes sense, given the price.

Green, crisp and fresh
This is a nostalgic scent for me, it reminds me of being a kid playing in the yard with the smell of lilacs wafting all around me, ahh.. it's very green, crisp and fresh. Not much more to say about it - it does exactly what it should, it's pleasant, and is the perfect springtime scent.

When the purple lilac blooms again...
Finally! Finally, a lilac scent for me! In Pleasures, it was still too invisible - or rather, too scentless.

Here I finally have a lilac scent in front of me, just as I imagined it. Soft, delicate, light, relatively unsweet - like a lilac bush from a reasonable distance. Wonderful!

This green, unsweet lilac freshness is THE counterpoint to the rose scent from the same series by Yves Rocher - released just in time for the upcoming summer - including shower gel and body lotion. Like the rose scent, this lilac is also built on a very light, fine, woody note and exudes the subtlest (and yet very authentic) lilac scent I have ever encountered.

And it lasts better than the rose scent!

Thank you, YR!

About meditative feel-good breezes... :)
I love the gentle scent of blooming lilac; it has such a calming, almost meditative effect on me.
My jogging routes ALWAYS pass by lilac bushes, and every time my heart skips a little happier. :)
I don't run for speed; marathons or similar events have never been my thing; I prefer to run meditatively... letting nature influence me, the plants, the air... and this incredible carefreeness and freedom that then fills me and allows me to return home about 10 km later, happy, relaxed, and with a clear mind.
There is nothing more beautiful for me than to almost inhale the lilac scent on warm summer evenings; lilac warmed by the heat, which is then so present, so intense... and so incredibly harmonious and soothing. :)

This wonderful, albeit somewhat fleeting and delicate scent here has a similar effect on me.
When I spray it, it is initially a very pleasant refreshment (the spray head delivers a good amount!); at first, everything is still very watery, and you can smell the alcohol, but after about 1 minute has passed, the lilac unfolds its wonderful, delicately enchanting scent.
There is no special progression here; green, powdery, and balsamic notes skillfully highlight their delicate violet star; you could almost say they create ideal conditions for it to shine beautifully. But they hardly mix in at all. It may sound a bit bland, but it is by no means the case here (for me).
That is exactly something I love about it... and why this wonderful lilac scent will definitely remain a fixed part of my collection. :)

Longevity is actually not too bad; on the skin, it is rather fleeting (about 3 hours noticeably), while on clothes it lasts up to 5-6 hours. ;)
Sillage is low; if you stand right next to someone "lilac-ed," you can definitely perceive it, but a few meters away, hardly at all.

Well then... I’ll go and "lilac" myself ^^ and I'm already looking forward to my early evening ritual: meditative jogging through the lilac-filled area here... :)

What you see is what you get ...
Namely lilac. I find it overall more pleasant than the Pur Desir lilac scent, which contains quite a bit of musk. This one is lighter and fresher, but it doesn’t last quite as long. However, it still lasts about 3 hours. Lilac scents often give me headaches, but I tolerate this one well. Two years ago, I had it once before and thought I detected a similarity to Pleasures. While Pleasures is also very lilac-heavy, it is overall greener and a bit sharper. I can’t recognize much similarity anymore. It’s a lovely scent that doesn’t give me headaches.

The entire Jardin line is wonderfully fresh and natural. I enjoy wearing them almost all year round. Here too, the respective scent has been beautifully captured; it really smells like a garden when the lilac is in bloom. At the very first moment, the alcohol briefly stings the nose, but really only for a moment. Then the scent becomes wonderfully lilac-like. Just as if you were burying your nose in a blooming lilac bush. Over time, the scent becomes less green, but creamier and warmer. Nevertheless, the scent remains wonderfully fresh throughout, making it pleasant to wear even in very high temperatures. When YR launched the Jardin fragrance line in 2012, I was still wearing more intense or heavier scents than today. Back then, I could only perceive the scents for a maximum of 2 hours and also complained about the short longevity and lightness. In the meantime, I now mostly use lighter scents; the fragrances from that time have generally become too intense for me. Since then, I can also perceive the Jardin line well for 3-4 hours.

A beautiful, delicate spring messenger not only for lilac fans!

Beautiful lilac could be better. More like laundry detergent lilac than a natural replica. Underlined with scratchy musk. Those comparing it to En Passant...

Much more authentic than the lilac predecessor from Yves Rocher. Refreshing, enveloping, natural. Ideal in summer, though fleeting.

Lilac and green notes. Quite lightly citrusy. Clean with musk.
A lovely scent, but unfortunately very, very fleeting. More like a body spray.

A feather-light lilac scent with green accents that quickly transitions to pure musk - too quickly. Beautiful, close to the skin, and fleeting.

Light, very natural lilac.
Completely gone after 2 hours.

Natural and floral. You can compete with the bushes in scent. Doesn't last long.

Unfortunately, I only get room scent lilac, not powdery/balsamic :( I only like that now and then. One-dimensional! I'm still searching for THE lilac scent.

Clean musk scent with a slight scratchiness, topped with a hint of rather unsweet lilac.

Lightly floral bright musk. After 15 minutes, it’s more powdery warm than fresh. After 1 hour, almost gone. I find the cherry blossom scent much nicer.

Very authentic lilac with a lot of white musk in the base. Unfortunately, the longevity is terrible :(
