A 'statement' fragrance
This is strong, pungent and reasonably long lasting.
Good dose of oud, leather and rose - more rose for me as it dries down.

I find very strong projection at the start but it calms down quick (1-2 hours) into a manageable scent closer to the skin for several more hours...

I see this is a fragrance that you'd wear to a special occasion - wedding or very special date. Not that it smells the same but the kind of occasion you'd wear Amouage Interlude Man to.

I like this but I'm not loving this, yet. I see this as a scent for the more mature man/woman and not for casual wear.

Spray lightly or you'll choke out yourself and everyone close (and get a headache). Given the strength and endurance I find it can get a bit cloying in the first hour or so...
The potency does trail off quickly and after a few hours it is quite moderate... After 2 hours it was mostly skin scent though I can see this lasting on clothes for days

Terry/ Terryfic Oud Extrême
Terryfic Oud Extrême... hm....
1. supposedly oud, and here it is noble, pleasant to the nose and does not reject a person who is unaccustomed to oud (yes we have real oud here)
2. supposedly rose, and it is given in such a way that it does not sound like a typical rose, besides it charms and does not "attack" the nose like most fragrances with rose (especially Far Eastern)
3. supposedly leather, but served in the most elegant and balmy way, like in a branded and expensive boutique.
4. saffron... yes-this one we have here shown in a rather literal way
A great fragrance-elegant, noble, mixed in such a way that there is no single dominant note in it.
A fragrance of the kind "for special occasions", special meetings. In my opinion, unisex, but I think it can smell even more interesting on women.
Initial projection is initially sizable, but after 2 hours it quiets down slightly, while longevity....... mega-12 hours beaten. Be careful not to overdose. Recommended.

call me
Finally, we have a fragrance that can truly captivate.

After the first test, I had written a statement saying it was nothing special, which I then had to delete. I had tested a lot that day and was probably a bit overwhelmed.
However, when I wore it for a day, the full beauty of this fragrance revealed itself to me; it is truly a delight, something very special.
At least that was the case for me, even though it is a Rose Oud fragrance and I am actually a bit tired of that combination. The rose remains subtly in the background, and the amber is not overpowering. Oud and saffron take center stage here.

And then there is this special note that I love above all else. It is what many describe as medicinal or refer to as hot metal. I prefer to call it rough and brittle. It has nothing to do with disinfectant, hospital smell, or metal. It can rather be described as a dry, slightly spicy note, and I am totally into it. You can also find this in Oud Cashmere Mood by Kurkdjian or Black Oud by LM. For me, this is the "call me" note; please don’t ask why.

The fragrance is neither cheesy nor sweaty or animalic; on the contrary, it comes across as extremely elegant and high-quality.
The longevity and sillage of the fragrance are very good; there is nothing to complain about.

Where do I find the nearest Oud?
As a novice in the realm of Oud, I have decided to gradually explore Oud fragrances.
Unpretentious as I sometimes am, I am now writing the first comment on Terryfic Oud Extrême and, comparably unpretentiously, I will start with what is currently probably the most expensive and most praised Oud fragrance: Oud Stars Fars by Xerjoff. In Switzerland, we are currently at about 650 francs per 100ml, and the terrible thing is, it feels on my skin like angel wings. I could sell my dishwasher, refrigerator, and bicycle (all unfortunately not quite new anymore) and still wouldn't make it. Oud Stars Fars is flawless, but something is still missing for me, namely the olfactory challenge. I expected my nose to initially resist the encounter with solid Oud, but not at all, Fars goes down like syrup. The fragrance researcher Roman Kaiser says a new scent always manifests itself through uncertainty. With Fars, I feel a hundred percent secure. So on to Colonia Oud by Acqua di Parma. Here too, I am disappointed: I have read that Oud fragrances are animalistic, sweaty, scratchy, and warm. This one is smooth and cool. It's like buttered Oud from the refrigerated section. Skillfully done, but absolutely not what I am looking for. Next candidate: Oud by la Réminiscence. I like it almost as much as Fars at first glance. I like its price even better. However, while Fars impressively remains fresh for hours, or should I say days, despite its enveloping warmth, la Réminiscence drifts a bit too much into the chocolaty for my taste. Nothing against this dark, non-bitter cocoa-Oud, which smells very delicious, but here too I am not satisfied. The least I can connect with is Oud Wood by Tom Ford. Not a bad scent in itself, but if it smells like Oud, then 99% of woody men's fragrances also smell like Oud.

That leaves my currently available Gunzburgs, Terryfic Oud l’Eau and Terryfic Oud Extrême. I snagged the samples without looking at the prices in a train station pharmacy and, to be honest, based on their somewhat arbitrary presentation, I assumed they would smell 100% mainstream. After testing both extensively, I must say: Wow, the mainstream is getting quite a faceful! Especially with the Extrême, I found exactly what I was looking for: animalic scent, freshly drawn sweat, and uncertainty squared. With the, as I have now found out, not even half as expensive L’Eau, I managed somewhat, but the Extrême, on the other hand, I scrubbed off my skin during the second test with the words “well really, that goes a bit too far” (or rather: I tried to). The perfume-soaked linen rag was allowed to stay on my desk. And even the next day, it emitted such an unusually fresh, rosy, cozy, and at the same time mysterious scent that I couldn't help but continue testing.
Sweat is a tricky thing. When I zip along the river on my bike in summer, I perceive my sweating skin as something quite sensual. Fresh sweat can smell very lively compared to stale sweat. And very sexy. No matter how hard I try, I cannot for the life of me figure out if I can warm up to the sweat scent in Extrême. It repels me just as much as it attracts me. There is nothing to complain about in terms of sillage and longevity. A hot shower easily withstands L’Extrême, and it lasts 3-4 days on fabric. The rose is a little rose that comes across extraordinarily assertively and is especially perceptible at a few centimeters of skin distance; I can also make out cedarwood and fruits, but they seem to me to only appear as the court of His Majesty King Oud from beginning to end.
Here I sit now, olfactorily uncertain, and consequently feel unable to give an evaluation.
At least I dare to claim that Terryfic Oud Extrême lives up to its name. And that Terry de Gunzburg is quite daring.

The almost forgotten Temple of the Sacred Rose
It was a long day and his legs carried him patiently, but for far too long. Just one last stretch. His destination on this mountain, far away from all noise and pulsating life. Each step a mantra, the rhythm of his heart in his ears. The world seems to hold its breath as he stands before the large, almost black wooden door. No birds, no wind. After unsuccessful knocking, he opens the heavy wings and steps inside the temple. He has heard many stories. What will still be true in the end? As if by itself, the doors close behind him, due to the sheer weight of the wood. No creaking, no squeaking. This place does not seem as deserted as many who sought it and did not find it dared to claim.

As his eyes adjust to the darkness, he perceives ornate beams in equally dark wood. They gently fill the air with their presence. The temple is not large. But very old. It has been mentioned in Arabic writings. Pilgrims and sages through time knew of its secret. Few passed on their knowledge.

Hesitantly, he moves forward and slowly approaches that one illuminated spot in the middle of the room. With each step, the enchanting scent he could already faintly perceive at the door intensifies. Upon reaching the center, he sees a rose bush. Deeply rooted in the earth. The entire temple was built around it. For protection. For devotion. Small bowls around it on the floor emit white, resinous smoke. He closes his eyes, and through the scent in his nose, the rose manifests in his mind. A deep calm overcomes him. And when he opens his eyes, he sees the rose in the twilight of the temple and understands why so little has been handed down. Every pilgrim and traveler finds their own story and perhaps even a home during their audience in the Temple of the Sacred Rose.

Terry de Gunzburg creates with Terryfic Oud Extreme a temple for me, with the sole purpose of preserving this rose and allowing it to be discovered by its wearer. For me, this temple does not represent a place of lived religion, but rather a refuge of beauty, of the magical. Rarely have I experienced a rose-oud that touched me in this way. And only two have been allowed to remain so far.

If a Dior Oud Ispahan is the "all-rounder," Terry's sacred (smoky) rose manifests untouchably on the skin and wishes to be celebrated on the right occasion. With a sample a few months ago, it was all over for me, and since then I have kept the almost forgotten temple in my heart and mind and enjoy its hidden treasure.

Want it badly, just the price stops me. Maybe I should test it again to make a decision. Hopefully they didn't reformulate.

Harmony doesn't mean uniformity, but rather a blend.
Sparkling-fruity, then wonderful bright red, smoky-leathery oud.

Less extreme than the "normal" oud. Softer, more accessible, without a human touch, just a saffron-rose-oud scent. But a beautiful one.

Magical-touching rose-oud, far from the Me-too mainstream. Aesthetic, calm, beautiful, and very elegant. A soul warmer. Always.

Great masculine version of Terryfic Oud. Less rose, no powderiness, but leather + patchouli. Animalic, very sexy. Amazing longevity.

Actually a quite nice fruity rose scent. I don’t smell the oud. But it’s ultra loud and overpowering. A bit too much of a good thing.

A very refined gentleman in fine attire. Beautifully blended, soft oud, with just the right amount of rose and saffron.

Rosè Oud scent with a strong H/S - those who love leather, oud, and rose will get their money's worth with this fragrance.
