Uff...my poor little nose is once again overwhelmed...
Many thanks to Nick for the bottling of Kinam Rouge Pure Parfum :-) Yes, once again my nose is totally overwhelmed... What I smell doesn't really match the fragrance pyramid. After all, the longevity of 10 to 12 hours is successful and the sillage, especially at the beginning, is very strong.
I don't recognize the citrus fruits from the fragrance pyramid in the top note at all. It smells more like rotten fruit to me...I can make out Virginia cedar though. The heart note doesn't smell floral to me at all either. For me, it goes more in an earthy, musty but also sweetish-dark direction. Labdanum, ribwort syrup and dried plums do come out here, but they are rather musty and unpleasant. There is also a hint of saffron in the background. The base has an animal, spicy and oriental scent of oud and musty undergrowth. Over time, the earthiness is carried by patchouli with hints of roots. Towards the end, it even smells smoky of myrrh and even vanilla-like of ambergris with a fine leatheriness.
Once again, this was not for me. Sorry!
