The pungent side of the musk

Essentially: coriander and a mountain of Kashmir deer musk. If Mongolian musk pp emphasizes more the chocolatey/earthy part of Mongolian deer musk (black tea, honey, carob), EO2 Kashmir, on the other hand, plays on the pungent part of this type of musk. It has a somewhat green bitter opening, then a spicy and aromatic woody part comes out, giving it a masculine character. The musk is well perceptible with "sweaty"/pheromonic hints.

I was not a huge fan of original eo2, I mean I liked it but it was never a love…but this Kashmir edition tho: holy bitter spicy musky heaven. Sharp,bitter,spicy and kinda wet opening: I bet a fragrance newbie would be already 6 feet (or deer) under after smelling something like this for the first time. A couple of seconds, not minutes, and the overall animalic musky feel settles down and you start to smell a wonderful spicy-woody floral bouquet, yes because you have the spicy-woodyness coming from cumin paired with a soft and realistic rose. Nothing off putting, all combined and blended to perfection, the Kashmiri musk works wonders and as said previously I love this interpretation way more than the Siberian one. If I had to describe this scent using a color I would not say it’s black like the juice but a dense, dark green. Regarding what “normal” people feel I’ll tell you what, this is fascinating: I got people saying they feel a lot of spices, other saying they can smell a beautiful rose fragrances, other saying they can only detect this animalic musky wall ❤️ me? I got all these feelings.

An exciting and, for me, successful fragrance

Many thanks to Nick for the bottling of EO N°2: Kashmir Pure Parfum :-) I have to say that this is a really successful fragrance from Ensar Oud - I've had a few misses in the past. In the end, however, the whole thing smells different to me, especially in the top note, than was suggested in the fragrance pyramid. The longevity is good at 8 to 10 hours and the sillage is also good so far.

For me, the top note starts off very fruity with lime, bergamot, mandarin and blood orange. Then it smells herbal and spicy with thyme, coriander and cumin with a fine peppery note. In the heart note, floral hints of jasmine blossom, tuberose and rose water creep in. After a while, I recognize black tea, cloves and nutmeg. The base offers an exciting combination of animalic, oriental, balsamic and woody notes. Oud, musk, civet, labdanum, leather and sandalwood can be identified here.

In the end, this is a very exciting and, for me, beautiful fragrance.
