The King Comes (Finally) Home...
Hello everyone,

Today I want to talk about a newcomer in my collection, the Private Blend and what it can do + why it is unique.

Regarding EO's pricing policy over the last few years concerning these fragrances... - it is very, very special and I see no point in wasting further words on it. I just wanted to mention it in passing. The Private Blend was once expensive and nowadays getting one is like finding a "needle in a haystack" and price-wise..., well, let's not talk about that....

What do we have here?

The Private Blend is a musk-based fragrance - with a dark woody oud variety (effect), a timeless perfect rose, a very noticeable blackberry, a bit of black tea (etc.), but in my opinion, the other notes are just a certain peripheral aspect (there are still many, many more unlisted notes).

Effect?

This is actually the most exciting point, because many would think it is terribly - evil and intensely animalistic, but that is exactly what it is not. I know no other fragrance that achieves this so extremely like the Private Blend = it creates a warming and very comforting creamy cloak that feels mysterious and mystical at the same time. This perfection makes it so unique.

People will turn around after you, because most have never experienced anything like this!

Similar fragrances?

There is its "successor," the "Private Blend: Hailam Kilam | Ensar Oud," which has a very, very similar scent profile and effect on/around you. However, the Private Blend is

- rounder
- denser
- deeper
- even better H/S
(But it is also rarer and more expensive)

The Private Blend: Hailam Kilam has been made a bit gentler and tamer and more suitable for everyday use compared to this "bomb." What each person prefers in that regard must be decided for themselves.

This fragrance is truly too beautiful to wear daily or weekly, because such a scent is, in my opinion, only worn on very special occasions and during a specific season (Nov. - Feb.).

If you appreciate the quality that EO offers us and find it worth it (price-wise), then I recommend trying it. Because it is no coincidence that it is one of my top 10 (ever).

I can and could write so much about this fragrance, but with EO fragrances, it is usually the case that one should experience them at least once, and here it really applies extremely. Such a thing must be experienced...

And now, have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
_______

(Now the same as almost always - because it applies!)

Now to the topic of luxury:

As you can see in part from my profile, I have really smelled many fragrances, and there are fragrances where you can smell a certain (partly) strong synthetic quality, and you quickly realize that some fragrance houses focus more on quantity than quality, and there are some where you can tell "oh come on, let's put in more + better ingredients" and you can smell that at the end of the day.

A brief note on the topic of packaging, bottle, sprayer:

I’ll keep it short: I give an 8 out of 10 in every category, and I know very well that tastes are very different. So, if someone honestly rates it a 6 or lower... - PHEW. Beautiful and high-quality cap, nice timeless bottle design, etc.... so I find it very hard to rate it differently, and I say this not because I like or dislike a brand!

Now a short note on my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, nor do I receive money or anything else. I approach the topic of perfume as I am, namely honestly; everything else is not my style. My true personal opinion is very VALUABLE to me, and I hope that is noticeable. If I don’t like something, such as packaging, bottle, sprayer, or H/S, I will communicate that too!

Secret Meeting of the Stuffed Animals
Every five years in summer, Groudbaum invites everyone to cuddle, exuding his enchanting scent to attract all the young forest inhabitants and to grant them strength and security. They come from all parts of the earth, gradually gathering in the fairy tale forest. First, the cashmere calves arrive, their fur dusty and partially covered in dry earth clumps, exhausted from the long journey, happily resting in the rose bed. Then, musk animals from Tibet appear, balsamically peaceful, lying down on jasmine flowers next to the calves and rubbing against each other.
Almost too late, the little Tonkin fawns arrive, mild and timid, cautiously placing themselves in between. Groudbaum notices this peaceful harmony and begins his magic; dark, woody cocoa drips from bark skin, coffee roots quietly burrow in tea earth, his gnarled tree crown
envelops small, relaxed animals until it gets dark, and then the light quietly rises, and berries grow on the branches. Everyone nibbles on them and drinks resinous amber tree sap. White skin flowers seal fresh leather wounds; everything floats and spins in the almighty oriental spicy wood smoke, relaxing and peaceful until the next morning.

What a piece!
It starts for me with cuddly musk, very sweet and helpless; I immediately switch to puppy protection program mode. Agarwood is briefly accompanied by cocoa dust and a lot of earth; I have to think of cypriol. A carpet of crystal roses envelops the very balsamic and creamy opening. The scent becomes smoky, leathery, and spicy, also sharp like pepper, with paprika, oriental, warm, and heartfelt. Jasmine radiates clean but also guilty at the same time.
Blackberry can only be perceived as a molecule, transparent and unsweet like a resin shadow.
In the wood, the oud comes through fully; it is bitter, woody, but also antique and dusty. Sandalwood appears only at the end, just like the beautiful amber
that remains the next day; it is
resinous, mineral, with ammonia or stinky feet, repulsive and attractive at the same time.
I quite like that :)
It is very wearable and truly noble
with a lot of sillage; it also seems familiar to me, as if a few scents were mixed together and designed a little
around, I am thrilled.

Thank you, Ceremy, for the testing opportunity :)

A fruity animalic rose scent
Many thanks to Nick for the sample of "Private Blend | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" :-) This animalic-fruity rose water has pleased me quite a bit. The longevity is strong with well over 12 hours, and the sillage is also very pronounced.

The top note starts fruity and sweet thanks to dark blackberries with slight cola vibes. It also has a spicy and subtly green scent reminiscent of black tea. The heart note offers a decent floral quality thanks to rose water with a hint of jasmine flowers, daffodils, and a bit of tuberose. In the background, there is still a creaminess present. The base smells exceptionally animalic, still sweet but also woody and balsamic with notes of musk, oud, and sandalwood.

In the end, this scent doesn't blow me away, but there are surely quite a few fans who will remain loyal to Ensar Oud ;-)

King of Musk Fragrances
It had to happen… I just have to write a review for this masterpiece.
From the very first moment, you get something truly special here.
As soon as the spray head is activated and the first drops touch your skin, a dense, warm, and potent cloud of musk envelops you.
It immediately penetrates deep into your nose and takes over your entire olfactory perception.
For the next several hours, and I really mean 16-18 hours, this masterpiece will remain distinctly noticeable on your skin.

But how does it smell exactly? What makes this fragrance so brilliant and so special?

Musk is definitely the main player for my nose here. We have very potent, strong, dense, and above all, animalistic musk. However, it is never unpleasant for me. A warm cloud forms, which tightly embraces the other notes. This scent character is likely primarily triggered by the Tibetan and Tonkin musk. The cashmere musk provides a counterpoint to these notes and brings creamy, powdery, soft characteristics into play. This creates a soft base for the other notes to dance and unfold.
The overall impression is very oriental. We have a royal rose, delicate fruity notes provided by blackberry, creamy woody notes from Mysore sandalwood, and floral accents from jasmine. The jasmine blossom and also the black tea are not distinctly noticeable to my nose, but they contribute to a magnificent overall impression.

But is there not something missing? Something that makes the entire creation what it is, adds decisive accents, and rounds off and completes the overall composition.
And that is, of course, the oud. A beautiful oud that supports and strengthens the composition throughout its entirety. Oriental, woody, slightly animalistic, and powerful oud notes resonate with us and are permanently present.

All in all, for me, it is a unique and special composition.
Even a masterpiece!

Like your favorite album that seemed average on the first listen: it takes a lot of patience before it becomes the ultimate musk dream.

Very dense musk scent with slight animal notes that I would attribute to the oud. A bit fruity with a dark blackberry.

Yes, that’s how Artisan should be. Natural, ethereal, wild, exotic, rugged, and unconventional. A tendency to provoke. Melancholic fireworks.

A truly successful EO when it comes to maximum (for EO standards) acceptance. Elegant, oudy, boozy, mildly spicy, light ...

The stag comes out of the men's room quite tipsy. In tow: fermented fruits and a few roses. Animalic is somewhat restrained in the dry down.
