Belgravia Iris Memoirs of a Perfume Collector 2025

Ok let’s not get carried away on the hype train on this, it’s good - very good even, better than L'Immensité which I do not like at all. Superior to that in opening and dry down.

This does indeed open just like I remember Le Gemme - Tygar Eau de Parfum and fades just as quickly. After that I’m met with the same open empty volume (like I’m anosmic to something).
There is a faint wood that slowly turns up in volume over 25/45 minutes.

In fact after I’d sprayed and a couple of minutes later after I thought the party was over I put my chunky knit top back on and forgot about it. It was 20 minutes later I noticed the wood scent. It took me a moment to realise it was Belgravia Iris coming through the sleeve, in a way I can only describe as ‘gently insistent’.
The woods grew in power and kept making its self persistently noticed.
The woods has this odd quality I cannot quite out my finger on. A slightly sharp faintly smoky or burnt edge. It almost reminds me of a type of burning incense (but it isn’t that either).

So wear this for that scent and not anything related to Le Gemme - Tygar Eau de Parfum

Do I love it? Hummmm no. This is more a signature scent, I’m looking for a summer scent or anything that’s a love from first sniff to the last dying ember.

If there's one thing you expect when you walk into Les Senteurs, it's to be greeted with complexity. I was recently in London and explored the Belgravia area at a friend's behest. I had been in the hunt for a fresh ginger fragrance and the exclusivity and iris had me at hello. This was my introduction to MoaPC and it did not disappoint.

Anyone who has spent more than a few months in the niche-luxury fragrance sphere will look at the pyramid and can automatically identify the tell-tale Tygar DNA from a block away. But don't drop out of the race just yet, because just as Vibrato , Ingenious Ginger , The Hedonist Extrait de Parfum , L'Immensité , III , have all done, they twist the "Le Gemme - Tygar | Bvlgari" till it squeals. Sweet citruses with a snap of ginger, an intoxicating combo that screams "I AM CLEAN" to the rest of the room. But here is where the Belgravia Iris asserts its independence. I am in a certified love/hate relationship with Iris/Orris as a note, butit is done to absolute perfection here. The boiled carrot note that turns me away is not present, instead you are left with an earthy smoke that bolsters the citruses on top. Let's move into it when you spray.

Opening: You get that lovely citrus punch from the lemon and orange, while the bergamot and mandarin maintain a sweet and friendly aurore. Neroli is not present until about 10 minutes in, in which I get the orange creamsicle vibe, all while being supported by the clean snap of ginger. Normally when I smell ginger, I distinguish it as being a sweet or a sharp ginger. Belgravia Iris manages both fantastically. There's a sharp ginger throughline, reminiscent of L'Immensite, but keeps the sweetness that G&B Ingenious Ginger provides. This olfactory menagerie entertains you and pulls you in for a deeper whiff and you get Belgravia Iris' piece de resistance: the smoky iris. Imagine a orchard of citruses with freshly tilled earth, the farmer's villa in the distance with a visible smoke emanating from the chimney. You smell the fresh blossoms and juicy fruits first, yes, but when you go for a deep inhale, the earth and the villa are what take you higher. That's what you get here, and it is fabulous. Which is why there's the sticking point of this being a Tygar DNA, because it is not. It is an Iris fragrance with a fresh Tygar zing. A mature facet in the more bubbly sphere that the aforementioned DNA attracts.

Dry Down: As mentioned previously, you have a the earthy smoke upon a deeper inhale, and the complexity begins. Patchouli, Galbanum, and Moss all lend their credences to making this scent its own. If The Hedonist by Ex Nihilo is the Tygar in the woods, then this is the Tygar in the deep deep undergrowth. It is earthy. Patchouli isn't the main player to my nose, instead its the moss that reminds me of walks through the English countryside with my Grandmum. It is down to earth, rough and tumble, that the iris is perfectly in position to compliment. I tend to find when iris is used incorrectly to my nose, it's in a floral bouquet style of fragrance where it sticks out like a sore thumb. Here, it is in its element. You are hugged by a lovely smoke under a lovely British spring day as . This scent is worthy to stand among the iris greats of Dior Homme Intense (2011) in my view.

Projection and Longevity: This fragrance can fill a room, and you get lovely wafts of it even if you do a simple 3-4 sprays. Sillage is also quite nice; I had a lovely interaction on the Tube when I hopped out and was asked by someone who wasn't even near me in the car about what I was wearing. It has solid longevity, pushing the 6 hour mark of projection and skin scent for about 2 more hours to my estimate.

Price: As an exclusive, you are forced to pay the exorbitant £162.50 GBP for it which a rough go at 75ml but I consider it a solid choice as this is a smaller niche house and the care for which Shadi Samra has shown his fragrances warrants it in my view. An absolutely lovely perfume.
