A divine honeyed vanilla

I love this and think the scent is divine, but find it weak. I wish it lasted longer and projected more. I feel like I can only smell it for around an hour, and even then I need to smell my wrists to detect it. However the weather is currently still very cold in my country. As this is meant for spring/summer scent, it’s entirely possible this fragrance is designed to shine in the warmth of those months, intensifying in the heat. I also find it quite unique. I haven’t ever smelt anything like this. It has a beautiful warmth about it. This also isn’t like any of the other suggested vanilla scents. Melipona is very much a warm, sugary, rich, honey forward fragrance, with vanilla in the background.

Having tried all the scents in this collection, Melipona was my favourite and the only one I bought a full bottle of. Initially I also loved Secret Di Nil, but then realised it was reminding me of 80’s dry shampoo, so I couldn’t buy it. However if you’re someone who already has Melipona and also own Secret Di Nil, you should absolutely layer them!! Together they’re absolutely gorgeous! It also increases the longevity and intensifies the scent of Melipona.

Vanilla sugar in beautiful

The Melipona is a dream of a cool, dry vanilla scent, even if it doesn't sound so dreamy.
It trickles down on me, but over time it gains a slight (really only slight) creaminess.
I would classify it between Fire at will and Vanitas.
So if you love these two fragrances, you might also like Melipona.
Love at first smell, it was for me.

A fine vanilla dream

When I was first allowed to test Melipona in my trusted perfumery, it was presented to me as the "vanilla sugar fragrance" It seemed strange to me at first. Who would want to smell like vanilla sugar?

The first impression was breathtaking. A beautiful, clear vanilla note. So simple, yet so elegantly fragrant.

After the visit, I took a small bottle with me to test the fragrance at home in peace.
Melipona is an unobtrusive, cool, dry, yet cuddly fragrance that invites you to feel good. The vanilla sugar note is present until the end. This is joined by woody and spicy notes that round off the fragrance.
If you are not a fan of sillage bombs and oud bombs, but sometimes only wear fragrances for the closest people around you or very intimately for yourself, you will find what you are looking for here.

Vanilla fluff

One of my favorite - if not my very favorite - fragrance notes is vanilla. In all its facets and in all possible and impossible combinations with other notes.
I therefore boldly claim that I not only own many, many vanilla fragrances, but have also tested an incredible number of vanilla fragrances. Accordingly, I have sniffed a lot of comparison material.

for me, Melipona is the baby that Fire at Will and Vanitas produced.
From Vanitas, Melipona has the sweet creaminess, almost like vanilla pudding, as well as a slight florality of orange blossom that is not mentioned in the official notes. However, the slight woodiness that Melipona has from Fire at Will ensures that the overall impression remains perfume-like and not literally edible.
What makes Melipona stand out for me: Here you get the full load of vanilla for once, but there remains a delicate airiness so that the fragrance doesn't overwhelm you.

Overall, a beautiful, balanced fragrance that will also work well all year round and is therefore a real all-rounder.

A sweet dream in white

What a wonderful vanilla fragrance! As soon as I spray it on, the warm, sweet smell of vanilla sugar hits my nose - almost as if I were standing in an ice cream parlor waiting for a freshly made scoop of vanilla ice cream. Simply delicious!

But Melipona offers more than just pure sweetness. In addition to the creamy vanilla, I perceive a light and refreshing mint, which gives the fragrance a special fascination. This makes it not so heavy or sticky, but gives it a very pleasant freshness.

What I find particularly exciting about fragrances: I always associate them with a color. And with Melipona, my color scale remained white throughout. Radiant, soft and inviting - just like the fragrance itself.

For anyone who loves vanilla, this is a clear recommendation. Sweet, but not too sweet. Creamy, but not overpowering. Simply an all-round successful fragrance that you should definitely try!
