A divine honeyed vanilla
I love this and think the scent is divine, but find it weak. I wish it lasted longer and projected more. I feel like I can only smell it for around an hour, and even then I need to smell my wrists to detect it. However the weather is currently still very cold in my country. As this is meant for spring/summer scent, it’s entirely possible this fragrance is designed to shine in the warmth of those months, intensifying in the heat. I also find it quite unique. I haven’t ever smelt anything like this. It has a beautiful warmth about it. This also isn’t like any of the other suggested vanilla scents. Melipona is very much a warm, sugary, rich, honey forward fragrance, with vanilla in the background.

Having tried all the scents in this collection, Melipona was my favourite and the only one I bought a full bottle of. Initially I also loved Secret Di Nil, but then realised it was reminding me of 80’s dry shampoo, so I couldn’t buy it. However if you’re someone who already has Melipona and also own Secret Di Nil, you should absolutely layer them!! Together they’re absolutely gorgeous! It also increases the longevity and intensifies the scent of Melipona.

Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's resinous vanilla, and that's good.
Personal: 7.5/10 - I enjoy it! It's warm, resinous sweet, and very natural smelling. This is the more natural version of MB Club Black.
Mass appeal: 8/10 - It's relatively quiet, pleasant, and simple. Most will find it pleasant.
Performance: 7/10 - It's fine. Doesn't last as long as I'd expect for sweet resins.
Value: 4/10 - For an artisanal fragrance, it's kind of boring. Not unique enough to justify the price.
Uniqueness: 7/10 - Kind of generic. Very pleasant DNA, but not unique at all. Just takes the resinous vanilla DNA and makes it more natural and pleasant.
SCORE: 67/100

Full bottle buy? NO. It's nice, but MB Club Black does this for WAY cheaper.
Blind buy? YES, it's resinous and sweet. You know what you're getting with this VERY simple fragrance.
Recommend? YES, if you want something that's warm, sweet, and resinous without the synthetic heaviness.
Date night? YES, cozy and intimate, sweet and seductive. I'd totally wear this.
Office safe? YES, soft and wearable without being too loud or overbearing.

Pros: Very natural smelling. Smooth, warm, and versatile in colder months.
Cons: Steep for how generic it smells. Doesn't stand out in a crowded genre.

There's astoundingly little to actually say about this fragrance. It's not bad by any means, but it's certainly boring. It's super linear and is a simple sweet, resin, vanilla fragrance. Like I said before, it's entirely similar to MB Club Black, so much so that this is practically the same fragrance.

It's gold, sweet, and resinous. It's nice to experience its natural smell, but not an essential bottle in any collection.

*Review #33 in my fragrance journey - this fragrance I own as a decant*

Vanilla Sugar in Beautiful
Melipona is a dream of a cool, dry vanilla scent, even if that doesn't sound so dreamy.
It cascades down on me, but over time it gains a slight (really just slight) creaminess.
I would categorize it between Fire at Will and Vanitas.
So, if you love these two fragrances, you might also really enjoy Melipona.
It was love at first sniff for me.

Vanilla Fluff
One of my favorite - if not my absolute favorite - fragrance notes is vanilla. In all its facets and in all possible and impossible combinations with other notes.
I boldly claim that I not only own a lot of vanilla fragrances, but I have also tested an incredible number of vanilla scents. Accordingly, I have sniffed a lot of comparison material.

Melipona is for me the baby that Fire at Will and Vanitas have conceived.
From "Vanitas | Profumum Roma," Melipona takes the sweet creaminess, almost like vanilla pudding, as well as a slight floral note of orange blossom that is not mentioned in the official notes. The slight woodiness that Melipona has from Fire at Will ensures that the overall impression remains perfumey and not literally edible.
What distinguishes Melipona for me: Here you get the full dose of vanilla, but it retains a delicate lightness, so the scent does not overwhelm you.

Overall, a beautiful, balanced fragrance that will work well year-round and is therefore a true all-rounder.

Is this the perfect vanilla?
My perfume journey began in the summer of 2022, when I was finally able to work without a mask again after two years, and I wanted to treat myself to a new fragrance to celebrate that. I was looking for something that smelled like vanilla and could be worn year-round. 2.5 years, 50 bottles, about 100 decants, and over 1000 tested perfumes later, the search for the perfect vanilla still hasn't reached a definitive conclusion, probably also because I got distracted by fig, tea, amber, citrus, sandalwood, rice, and cream scents. But when I sprayed Melipona today, I felt that perfume sensation that you all surely know - that mix of "What is this, I need it, I want it!!" and "Shit, this is going to be expensive, and right before Christmas!"
So what do we have here: vanilla with vanilla sugar, meaning spicy, dark vanilla, sweetened with Dr. Oetker vanilla. Slightly ambered, enriched with a bit of wood, creating a nice, rounded depth. I also perceive some undefinable floral notes that play with my perception. Synthetics are definitely present according to the notes, but not of the intrusive kind; rather, they serve to ensure a certain longevity and sillage. The result is a vanilla that can be worn anytime and anywhere, to work, at home, for going out, in warm weather, in cold weather. The Chanel handbag of perfumes, so to speak.
Until now, I always thought that a pure vanilla scent was actually rather boring and only became interesting when you played with it and layered it. Melipona has now taught me otherwise. Vanilla, and that's it.

Warm vanilla cotton candy. Definitely unisex and definitely a nice scent. Just a bit too sugary for my personal taste though.

Basically the same perfume as Sucre Noir, Vaniglia, Vanille West Indies, Fire at Will... Consider execution and quality when picking. 8/10

It's not bad, but it's not amazing. MB Club Black, but way more natural smelling. Way more expensive too, though.

Back vanilla with a strangely dry, spicy, bitter, resinous note. I can't stop thinking about cat food. Meow.

It smells like vanilla powdered sugar. At first, I thought it was too authentic, but somehow it's awesome. Lasts really well. Not a scent for every day.
