modern leather interpretation

Opening: The beginning is surprisingly fresh and bright. The leather remains rather subtle in the background at first.
Heart phase: After about 20 minutes, the true leather aroma emerges. It feels clean and almost artificial - more like glove leather than saddle leather. The blend reminds one of high-quality leather goods in a store, not an old leather jacket.
Base: The dry phase is supported by light woody notes and a gentle wood base. The leather remains noticeable, but never intrusive.

Longevity: On my skin, it lasts about 5-6 hours. Sillage: Rather discreet, at arm's length.

Conclusion: A well-wearable leather scent that is suitable for the office. Perfect for those who like leather but do not want heavy, animalistic fragrances. Not particularly new or complex, but solidly made. However, for the price, I would have wished for more depth and character. 6.5/10

Give it to me with the leather belt, but make it gentle!

Do you know Ombre Leather by Tom Ford? Of course you do, I believe there is no more well-known leather scent than this one, I have it too and I love it, although I did have some initial difficulties with it. Now imagine taking that slightly animalistic leather note from TF, rounding it off a bit, and making it almost submissive: et voila, New Notes - New Leather!

I have tried quite a bit from the Italian brand, I bought a Discovery Set back then and so far I haven't warmed up to the scents at all, everything had a somewhat unbalanced note and smelled somehow... strange. New Leather was the first fragrance I fell in love with!

I find it hard to describe individual notes, my surroundings found the scent a bit too leathery and penetrating (which might also have been due to my 8 sprays indoors). For me, it runs quite linear, but at the beginning it is softer, and at the end it becomes more leathery.

My first association was a mix of Out for Greatness and Noveau Monde by Louis Vuitton. It’s probably the saffron blossom that brought the OFG association, and I also believe I perceived the very high-quality leather vibe from Noveau Monde! The best comparison I can really draw is that Ombre Leather by Tom Ford is even more balanced and softer! I find that in OL the leather note is quite strong, almost heading into an animalistic direction, which NL does not have. Here everything is balanced, high-quality, leather with a woody, warm spiciness! However, it is quite pleasing and significantly less, I don’t know how to describe it, but many scents from New Notes have something strange, slightly synthetic or artificial about them in my opinion, this one does not! A very beautiful balanced and high-quality leather scent!

Regarding longevity and sillage: I sprayed the scent on my wrist the night before wearing it, I perceived it for a very long time, on the day of wearing it, my colleague told me it was penetrating, while I didn’t perceive it anymore, so I think I can say: it has power!

For 120-150€ you definitely can't go wrong here for 50ml, anyone who likes Ombre Leather should take a look at this scent! I wore it on a "beautiful German summer day" with about 20 degrees, it was not inappropriate, but I believe that in winter, when it’s really cold, it will come across even better! Let’s see when it joins my collection!

Completely Under the Radar

To get straight to the point, this is my absolute favorite leather scent.

I discovered this unexpectedly in my niche perfumery, and it impressed me so much. Plus, with a price of €140, I just had to buy it.

As for the scent: It smells somehow familiar, similar to this or that fragrance, but it has that certain something that makes it unique for me.
In the opening, I get saffron flowers with pepper, bergamot, and leather. Great combination, which even feels slightly animalistic at the beginning, but not the disturbing kind of animalism, rather a very subtle one. Towards the drydown, the leather becomes more pronounced, and the fragrance unfolds beautifully.

The bottle is solid and I like it. However, the absolute best part of the bottle is the spray head, WOW.

I can recommend this scent to everyone, solely because of the price. Do give it a try.

exciting leather scent, great price/performance for niche

Dark, spicy leather with woody-resinous and very subtly sweet undertones. An exciting fragrance, confident and in my opinion an upgrade to, for example, Ombré Leather (2018) Eau de Parfum. Definitely not as widespread and more complex.

Sillage is very good, maximum 2 sprays needed, hence also good price/performance.

What's on the label is in the bottle: leather. However, labdanum "smokes" the leather too much for me. The fine, balsamic-spicy base serves as a counterbalance.
