Don't judge a book by its cover

Far from what I imagined. I feel an explosion of fresh scents on me. A crystalline scent. It reminds me of EdenFalls or Camicia 113. As it happens 10 / 10 times, my skin brings out the woody vibes in a remarkable way, like in there. Speaking of violet, it's not boring or granny-effect at all. Don't feel the sugar part as well. I would call it more of a woody/citrusy/floral white, that's it. It is a pleasant perfume, somehow sharpy. perfect for spring and super unisex.

No bonbons

When I first tried this, I really hated it. The name made me expect something completely different. I mean, doesn't it sound like a sweet, powdery violet pastille perfume? And that's absolutely not what I get here.

Instead it's the leathery kind of violet that smells more like the leaf than the flower. I really wonder why there is no leather, saffron or violet leaf in the notes list. There is something bracing, harsh and bitter about the scent that I wasn't prepared for.
Admittedly there is also some sweetness in the background, so the name isn't totally off, but it's not really what I think of when I hear "bonbon".
The bright coloring of the packaging and the edgy statue with the nose ring and the big sunglasses are very appropriate for the scent though. It has an intentionally synthetic, neon-like vibe.

Definitely not for everyone, and not for me personally, but after trying it a few times, I find it more tolerable than I thought at first. I could see it work well for a man (or really, anyone) who likes powdery flowers, but doesn't want to smell dainty and ladylike.

There are some votes for this as similar to Baccarat Rouge 540 at the moment, and while I don't doubt that they might be similar to some other noses, I wanted to add that I don't smell any reminiscence of BR540 in this whatsoever.

A seemingly fragile flower, but one of great beauty and strength, in this fragrance it is celebrated in its sweetest aspect, with slightly gourmand traits.
Yes, combined with sweet and sugary notes, this flower wants to reproduce a tasty violet candy, and I must say it succeeds very well.
I am a lover of this note, which is here elevated to its full beauty.

Sweet yes, but not violet candies

Bonbons à La Violette is reminiscent of Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, as it belongs to the same fragrance family. It has that mossy, crystalline sweetness. If you've smelled Sensual Instinct, this one smells very similar.

The moss is too dominant for my nose and makes the fragrance dense, deadly sweet, and after a while, due to the extremely intense note, quite annoying. I can't smell it for too long.

I think I would like this fragrance in a scent bubble - when someone walks by me and I catch a whiff of it. But applied directly on the skin or clothing, it's not for me.
