Great DNA for a small price
In my search for exciting gems in the world of oriental fragrances, I came across Imperial Valley Eau de Parfum some time ago and the fragrance has always fascinated me. Every now and then you hear that this is the IT-DNA of the Arabian fragrance world in recent years. As the original is unfortunately very hard to come by in this country and I was very interested in the DNA, I thought I'd give it a try.
And the fragrance DNA is really exciting. To my nose, the fresh and citrusy notes are combined with a certain airiness and there is a leather-oud combination in the background, which makes for a very pleasing fragrance. This combination between the fresher and more leathery fragrance notes is surprisingly wearable and versatile and I can imagine why DNA is so popular in Arab countries.
The fragrance notes themselves are not really definable for me individually, but the overall picture is really a pleasant fragrance that combines the combination of oriental and everyday suitability very well. In my opinion, the fragrance is also a great companion in spring and summer, but I think the combination of notes means that the fragrance always works. You shouldn't be put off here either, I don't find the fragrance at all sophisticated or even animalistic.
I must also say that I can compare the fragrance DNA with very little in this country, but if I had to compare it with a fragrance known here, then I would most likely think of Nouveau Monde. Not that the fragrances smell insanely similar, but I find the approach to the way leathery oud scents are combined with lighter notes somewhere similar. I also find that the leathery oud notes in this fragrance are slightly similar to LV's Assam oud, even though 0.0% Assam oud was even remotely used here. Especially for the price, I think the quality of the fragrance is also good, I wouldn't have put the fragrance in the price category blindly.
Longevity and projection are unfortunately the aspects where you notice the low price, at least in my experience. The fragrance is unfortunately not the longest lasting on my skin, but the projection is quite present, especially at the beginning. For the price, however, you can spray more or more often during the day.
The fragrance is currently available for between €20 and €30 for 100ml, which is definitely a price worth testing. Especially if you are interested in the DNA of Imperial Valley Eau de Parfum without wanting to spend too much money and are looking for an oriental fragrance for spring and summer that is simply different from the normal freshies in this country. However, there are now really many dupes of Imperial Valley Eau de Parfum e.g. the Empire Empress , the Sultan the Founder or the Arabiyat - Lutfah the seventh heaven. I doubt whether the Khair is the best dupe, but it is certainly one of the cheapest dupes for anyone who wants to experience the DNA. Maybe it's also worth spending a little more money on the Sultan the Founder, but I can't say at the moment.
