Interesting summer freshie, with a balanced tart/sweet fruity aspect
Sampling Noki, one of Pineward Perfumes’ recent spring/summer release, a fruity, woody, somewhat tart blend of lychee, mango, mint, rhubarb, cassis, sandalwood, and ambergris. Much like the other summer releases, Delfino and Gelatto, it’s fresh, quirky, and fairly unique. Fortunately, the rhubarb is restrained, as it can be a very intense note, to my nose, and it’s rather well coupled by the lychee and mango, with just a hint of mint. Overall, the composition overlaps somewhat with a “fresh cocktail” vibe while not being too sweet, with sharp hints from all around—the rhubarb, the sandalwood oil, the ambergris. It has a beach vibe while not being overtly marine, and has a fun, summer-loving air about it.
Overall, it’s very nicely done, and on par with other Pineward summer releases, which are fittingly lighter, more agreeable, and lower-priced than most of the line’s catalogue, which tends to dark, woody, heavy, and resinous. Noki has EDT concentration, and is priced at $100/60 for 57/37 ml.
