Conifer Lovers Rejoice

Conifer lovers rejoice! Sturbridge is truly beautiful!
This reads as fir & pine garlands, crisp winter air, warming spice accords & Yuletide resins. I’m shocked at how truly atmospheric and beautiful this is.

Some may says it’s more masculine of center than unisex. Others may say it would make an ideal candle or wall plug-in rather than a fragrance. I do think it reads more masculine than unisex, but that certainly would not stop me from wearing it! I’d love to smell like I’d come from a winter hike! 9/10 for me

Holiday nostalgia through rose-colored glasses

Scrooged's ghost of Christmas past takes you on a wild taxi ride, revisiting memories spent with your maximalist grandmother, home filled with the smell of baked fruit pie, holiday spices, hot toddies, and a 12 foot tree that looked oddly stout since the top two feet had to be cut off to fit in the room.

Not Sure What This Is

The website describes this fragrance as a "festive winter hearth adorned with garlands and pinecones...blend of sticky resins, spiced goods, winter greenery and wisemen's gifts." That sounds like an amazing concept. I think the execution falls really short. At first I couldn't tell if this was a cider or generic tropical drink? Its hard to say because this fragrance is just so weird. The sweet and fruity notes dominate the fragrance, its mostly generic fruit which is why I originally thought of it as tropical. But there is a tiny hint of apply and the spice with wood notes take it out of the tropics and into the rustic.

Overall, a weird fragrance that is kinda hard to describe other than just sweet and fruity with some spice. The projection and longevity are good as is with most Pineward fragrances. The projection is enough to create a scent bubble around the person wearing it and it lasted on my skin for about 6 hours. There are several sizes and prices available such as 57mL for $205, 37mL for $135, and 17mL for $80.

Unusually beautiful, beautifully strange - but a winter dream without cloves!

Sturbridge by Pineward opens with hidden cola notes that suddenly connect with pine resin and cones. Typical of Pineward, everything related to the forest, and especially to pine, has been implemented very authentically and naturally - at least to my nose.

Then, it doesn't stop at the background cola notes accompanying the scent of various pines. Sturbridge becomes pleasantly sweet with the addition of roasted apples and myrrh. Warm spices join in, creating a sweet-resinous-green, almost balsamic harmony that conjures the following images in my mind:

A winter cabin stands in a Canadian pine forest,
inside, there is an intimate, almost Christmas-like atmosphere,
in the evening hours, two lovers roast their apples over an open fir wood fire,
pleasant smoke wafts through the rustic wooden cabin.

A balanced, harmonious, and well-composed winter scent!

I think I will also roast apples next winter, and Sturbridge would be happy to join :)
