Esta es una edición limitada de 100 botellas con algunos materiales exclusivos e irremplazables. La salida es muy potente, cuero, notas saladas y azafrán, evoluciona hacia unas resinas brillantes, diría que hasta algo frescas y ya en el secado destaca el oud y maderas. Pensaba, por el nombre, que el Ambergris sería más prominente, pues no, no destaca en absoluto, algo perceptible pero no primer actor. En resumen, buen perfume, experiencia olfativa muy evolutiva, que es lo que busco desde hace tiempo, más que la linealidad de la gran mayoría de perfumes.

Darkness, cuir & sea.

Animalic smell, Ambergris? but light, not very animalic. This is not Silent the Sea, as if it were a skin more than leather, a dark, humid and salty smell (it made me remember the TF Oud Minerale algae smell)

This perfume, surprisingly, has reminded me a lot (for those who know it, you can get an idea) Vicuna leather by Katana Parfums, like this one is elegant, and give me the same idea of a new black leather jacket (not a old brown leather) but where CV is leathery/citrusy this one is leathery/aquatic.

Dark sea

A dark, sea fragrance with noticeable animalic notes. Compared to the regular version, the natural oud adds a slight petrol/rubbery smell. The white amber isn't particularly noticeable Projection is very strong, lasting a good 12 hours on the skin. The drydown is more similar to the regular version, while the opening is completely different.

Thalassophobia - the beast lurks in the deep sea trench

I took my time with this fragrance and really let it sink in to fully understand it.
However, I will start with the packaging and bottle. The packaging is typical of Toskovat, the only difference here being the cardboard sleeve with a few illustrations and a description of the rare components. The bottle is again typical of Toskovat, but this one has a golden cap and the number on the back of the label. I saw 02/100.
I really would have wished for more creativity here, because first impressions matter, right?
High price and little presentation.

After that, I told myself that it’s the fragrance that counts and not the packaging, which ultimately collects dust in the cupboard.
The first spray immediately captivated me. An intense, almost overwhelming blend of Choya Nakh, saffron, and seawater unfolded right away. I never expected that, but there I was, understanding what David wanted to convey. Depth, fear, and no way out.
Time passed, and what remained was the Assam oud and the white amber, but really strong. I couldn't believe it, as it was so heavily dosed that it almost completely overshadowed the other notes. There I was, trapped in the deep-sea monster with no way out.
But David said: "Today I remembered the only way out is through.", but how?

A feeling of respect and awe remains with me, respect for the craftsmanship and the story that "The Belly of the Beast" tells.
Anyone who has the opportunity to acquire or test this should seize it. It truly is an adventure.

Expedition to the Mariana Trench

I would paint the following picture: You stand on a coastal cliff, in icy cold, staring at the raging waves. Just before that, an expedition into the depths of the ocean is about to begin. I gaze at the rusty and metallic submarine, which is about to send me into the depths at any moment.
In the first few meters, I still see algae and other greenery as I sink, but shortly after, it becomes empty and dark. As the bottom gets closer and the emptiness seems endless, I look at the vintage leather seats of the submarine. The floor is within reach when suddenly I spot a huge monster head in the distance. All this time, I hadn’t realized that I had landed in the habitat of a giant beast. When I realized this, I put everything on the escape to the surface. The monster roared and growled in the depths of the sea, while it sank its fangs into my submarine. At the last second, I manage to reach the surface to a piece of old driftwood.

In short: I get an extremely deep-sea and mystery vibe. Every fan of such profiles should give this scent a test :)
