Take Me to Church Toskovat'

Managed to get a decant of this. This was my first Toskovat' fragrance. I full on expected to hate it, as I get overwhelmed by strong scents very easily, but I actually love it. This is THE church scent. It does not mess around, it comes on strong and fast. It's powerful, and yet photorealistic. I am a lover of more subtle incense scents but I gotta give credit where it's due. This one is great. Too bad it is discontinued, I feel like there are many more people out there who would love this scent.

I have been informed that this scent is back and is called Domus Nomeni, but I cannot afford a 500 euro fragrance :( Sad.

This is one of the most photorealistic church scents i have ever smelled, so incredibly complex and representing each part of the church and diving deeper and deeper into it.

Starting whit the church aisle, dusty air swirling around made visible by rays of light coming from the tinted windows, the church is empty and you can hear your steps walking towards the altar, where the smell of resins and incense still lingers the air.

The scent ends into the crypt, just under the altar of the church, there's candle wax dripping from the damp stone walls, the air is stale, humid, almost acrid and hard to breath, there is a layer of wax and resins that permeates almost every surface in this space.

Everything of this scent is so vivid it transport's me to the thousand's of ancient churches i have visited, it's repulsive yet comforting at the same time.
Certainly something to smell not so to wear.

First of i just want to tell you all what a struggle its been to find it this work of art. I was also very lucky to find the 60ml bottle full. And oh’boy was this a good purchase. Such an elegant peace. Alright lets stop bragging about it and get into my experience with it. My personal experience with this was a dark, big catholic church, the nuns has just gathered in the preacher hall. The incense is burning and filling up the church halls. Rain is pouring down outside. Almost like judgement day is here. Lovely, just lovely. exactly my cup of tea

incense-heavy fragrance that evokes the atmosphere of an old, candle lit church, dusty stone walls, flickering wax, peppery spice, and layers of resin and myrrh.

It opens sharp and slightly solvent-like but quickly settles into a deep, smoky, and spiritual composition.

It’s emotional and immersive, more like a work of art than a casual perfume, perfect for those who appreciate dark, atmospheric scents, but not for everyday wear.

It feels like Filippo Sorcinelli shared his blessings over this amazing piece! I own Lavs from Filippo and TMTC kinda shares the same DNA and vibes.

If you are an incense lover and you like Filippos work, this is an easy 10/10.

In my search for ever more special and creative fragrances, I naturally couldn't pass by the brand Toskovat.
I pondered for a long time which scent I would like to test, and in the end, it became "Take Me to Church | Toskovat." Regardless, I want to try all the scents from the brand anyway.

The fragrance is definitely not for everyone; with notes like incense and myrrh and the few "counter-notes" that could steer the scent in another direction, it manages to paint a picture.
You find yourself on the way to a church, more specifically, a church in the countryside. Outside of any villages or towns, you are on a country road, where no house is in sight for miles around.
In the distance stands the church, enveloping the landscape with a gloomy aura.
Upon arriving at the church, you receive a real olfactory punch, primarily of incense and myrrh, right in the face.

In conclusion, one can say that the fragrance is not suitable for daily wear. However, the rating is still high because the scent embodies exactly what it is supposed to embody.
Those who enjoy fragrances that are creative, artistic, and special will find themselves right at home here.
