Spicy Leathery
Opening is strong spicy and fresh. It started with pleasant aroma of black pepper and bergamot, I did not get any cardamom in it.

After 30 minutes, sage and leather came in front strongly and worked quite well together, sage continued to become stronger while leather taking back seat. leather is nice, pleasant and not overly strong.

After 5 hours, the dry down is gorgeous, creamy vanilla, and sandalwood.

Projection 1.5 to 2 hours
Longevity 10 - 12 hours

Brave Heart - A Fragrance That Won My Heart!
Firstly, I want to clarify that I had never smelled "Cuirs Nomades - African Leather (Eau de Parfum) | Memo Paris" or The One Luminous Night before. Before purchasing this fragrance, I thoroughly researched through YouTubers (from the USA, Indonesia, and Bulgaria) - basically, I watched all available videos on YouTube, sometimes just using subtitles - and all of them basically said that although the bottle design might make the fragrance look like a clone of African Leather, it's actually a good clone of The One Luminous Night.

So I thought to myself: Great! I've heard a lot of hype and praise for this perfume, so let's give it a try! Now that I have ordered the fragrance myself (for an incredible 13 euros, what a deal!), I can say that I don't understand these reviews at all. Maybe the wrong juice was filled into the bottles in the first batch? Or perhaps the fragrance has already been reformulated? My batch is from 11/2023...

The fragrance is officially described as follows:

Top notes: Bergamot, Cardamom, Black Pepper
Heart notes: Leather, Clary Sage, Cedarwood
Base notes: Amber, Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla

On the other hand, based on my own research on the internet, The One Luminous Night is heavy on the dates and incense - scent notes that I cannot detect in this fragrance.

To be honest, I don't like leather accords in my fragrances. They smell too animalistic or too much like a leather seat for my taste. But I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I perceive a strong note of clary sage, which carries all other scent notes. There is a good amount of soapy-spicy cardamom and a good splash of black pepper, which pleasantly tickles the nose receptors. There is a slight bergamot freshness that persists throughout - unusual for citrus notes. I am pleasantly surprised by the leather note. It is definitely there, but it doesn't take center stage - it's more like one of the co-stars alongside the spices, clary sage, and dry-woody cedar. It doesn't come across as too animalistic or like a leather seat. It's more of a light, balanced, soothing type of leather (perhaps it's even more of a suede than leather). I also perceive a patchouli-like minty earthiness, maybe it's just not listed in the official scent notes, or it's due to a combination of some of the accords. The base note is a classic creamy sandalwood-vanilla-musk-amber base that harmonizes beautifully with the spice, leather, and earthiness.

The longevity at this price point is completely okay - about 6 hours on my skin with good projection in the first 1.5-2 hours. Also Arabian fragrances are known to improve their performance after a couple of weeks/months of maceration (I had my bottle for a week now).

The fragrance needs some temperature to unfold all of its notes in the air. Therefore, I think it works best in autumn or spring, but it could also work well in winter for indoor occasions.

In the end, this is not at all what I expected at all, but I am thrilled by this fragrance. Especially for the price at which I got it.

"Cheerful to Spicy" - olfactory autumn weather
Yes, the swapping! It brings me the rarest, strangest, oldest, newest... scents right under my nose. It's always fascinating and exciting what there is to sniff in the world of aromas and pleasant fragrances. One of the latest acquisitions is this "Zimaya," which has everything to pass as an oriental-spicy niche fragrance. Everything?? ALMOST! Except for the price.
I don't want to go into detail about costs here - about €20 per 100ml in a quality bottle and box speaks for itself. But how does the "Brave Heart" smell?
Like pepper-lemon-cardamom, cedar-leather - wild and fine, amber-wood-sage, and vetiver-sandalwood-vanilla! And what would be the best time to wear such a complex scent?
In my opinion, preferably in autumn and winter. From about mid-September to around mid-March. Because this perfume somehow plays with the changes in weather during the cooler seasons. Clearly, especially in autumn, the "weather" really comes into its own.
It has the warmth of cheerful September days, citrus fruits and muscatel sage are in friendly accord.
The "golden light" and the colorful variety of leaves in October, when cardamom and sandalwood meet. Even foggy November days have their justification - vetiver and cedarwood create more of a mysterious than a gloomy atmosphere.
Yes, and what would autumn be without late autumn - the advent aromas of December provide cozy warmth. This time it's cardamom and vanilla... But what about the "leather" and the pepper? Yes, the latter comes into play on icy January days - although we are already deep into winter... It has the potential to occasionally smell like "snow air," the harbinger of white flakes that finally settle for a while.
Leather? - Well, that's a story in itself... we are already in early spring. Calendar-wise still winter - but the sap of the trees is rising, even that of the white birch - It smells herbaceous-earthy-tarry when birch sap is boiled down to birch tar, which is used for tanning leather. A hint of that gives hope for the coming warmer half of the year.
Now let's enjoy the "rest of autumn" - daring to go out even in the thick morning fog, letting ourselves be warmed by the midday sun in sheltered spots, if it shines, and delighting in the colorful leaves... Wearing a fitting scent like this!!

Oriental niche! Wood-spicy leather pepper - drizzled with lemon - wrapped in vanilla. The pepper-amber finish deepens the classy impression!

Old leather couch with way too many spices and overripe fruits. Not recommended even for €20.

A winter herbal blend that only reveals its potential in warmer temperatures. A great mix of fresh-green & dark-warm.

Very spicy. You immediately notice the nutmeg. The bottle and packaging are great, like opening a book. The price/quality ratio is outstanding.

A blind buy is always a brave buy, especially when you're not a leather fan at all, but my brave heart was rewarded. Great spice!

Warm, sweet, and subtly spicy.
I can't find any bergamot, and there's no trace of leather?! Reminds me of "standard designer" scents like Paco Rabanne...

So Luminous Night has nothing to do with it, in my opinion, a sweet-spicy but also not necessarily everyday scent, like a Sunday walk, etc.

"Qaa'ed / قايد | Lattafa / لطافة" + Freshness from bergamot and pepper. Unfortunately, H/S is noticeably less.
