Praline with tart, floral synthetics
Even if you spend a lot of time with fragrances and perfumes, you often don't know whether it is an original creation or - in whatever form or extent - a 'fragrance quote' or even an imitation. So far, I have most often come across a BR-540 dupe or a Le Male modification. Whether Grandeur is also a quote is not known to me.
Rose and vanilla are listed twice each in the fragrance notes and salt and ozono notes are also listed as two sea-fresh-water notes.
I can perceive a strong vanilla-praline-like sweetness, which is accompanied by a herbal-floral note. Despite the slightly bitter scent perception, this is more of a feminine fragrance for my nose due to the strong sweetness.
Although rose is prominently featured in two versions, this is not a rose fragrance, as the gourmand notes are too strong and the floral accents too synthetic for that.
At first sniff, the malt beer association of Dufteanders is understandable. However, if you move your nose closer to the sprayed fragrance, the tart, bitter, floral and gourmand notes become distinguishable, but a synthetic quality also becomes clearer.
The heavy, shiny gold bottle is packaged in a rather elaborate cardboard box and also has a heavy, but rather loose-fitting cap with a stick-on label with lettering and an attractive pattern on the front. This gives the fragrance an air of high quality that is not entirely convincing in detail, but more so than the fragrance manages to do to my nose.
