Allegedly a dupe for Nishane Tero, but definitely not for me
I bought the perfume for one single reason.
Nishane's Tero is said to be a great caramel scent, and the Mazaaj is supposed to be a dupe for it.
Whether that’s really the case, I can’t say, as I’ve never tested Tero.
However, since I've been looking for a perfume with a prominent caramel note for a while, I just had to buy Mazaaj blind.
Some fragrances impress me right away, unfortunately, Mazaaj does not fall into that category.
I found the opening to be very synthetic.
An alcoholic cloud hit me directly, and I almost had a stroke.
Caramel? Not at all!
At least not a realistic caramel.
More like salty, spicy caramel, or something that is supposed to remind me of caramel.
Because, as I said, that’s not how caramel smells to me.
It’s all very spicy.
Caramel should actually be sweet, but the spiciness just completely overpowers it.
In the dry down, I perceive patchouli.
Cinnamon can only be guessed at.
It’s again not realistically smelling cinnamon.
Paired with the synthetic caramel that gives me glue vibes, I knew right away that I had to get rid of this perfume immediately.
After 20-30 minutes, it finally becomes more pleasant.
Fortunately, I no longer perceive the glue vibe of the caramel.
The scent becomes smoother, yet all the notes still seem quite low-quality.
A spicy, subtly sweet cloud envelops you, with a projection of 1.5 hours.
The projection is moderate.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t test the longevity extensively.
On my top, it lasted like almost every other scent until the next day.
Can I recommend this scent? Definitely not.
It simply feels too low-quality.
For the price, that might be understandable, but there are definitely better options in that price range.
That’s just my personal opinion; maybe you’ll like it, but for me, it was just not it.
