No TdH replacement
Ginepro Nero, this small matte black bottle. It's something! Do you have to compare the Profumo necessarily with Terre d'Hermès? If one
TdH knows you can not help it, because immediately at the first Whiff you are reminded of the popular designer. Draws Ginepro thereby the
shorter? If one stands on the Terre in TdH, then definitely.

If the expectation is that you get a TdH, then you are bound to be disappointed. But if you feel like playing with the fragrance a little,
maybe differences herauszuriechen, then you have fun with the Nero. After 1.2 hours, he reminds me hardly TdH, instead remains a
fruity, wacholdiger smell with low durability and silage. Well suited for everyday life and leisure, if you want something inconspicuous, but not
completely without fragrance on the road would like to be.

Conclusion: no TdH replacement, instead a nice, playful variant in this area.
And who does not know the TdH? The I would recommend because of the better silage and durability to reach straight to TdH.

Un tocco di personalità - or - summer in Milan for little money
Born from a passionate love of nature, L'Erbolario, the Italian company with its headquarters in Lombardy, has grown from its first bold steps to the present day to become a renowned and internationally recognized producer of "plant cosmetics" and "green beauty".

The dream of making beauty accessible to all eventually led to the appearance under this name a variety of products of remarkably high quality. In the process, it has been possible to offer natural cosmetics at an excellent price-performance ratio.

The delicate fragrances of L'Erbolario in attractively designed packaging (8/10), are trademarks of which the manufacturer can be justly proud. "Ginepro Nero", or for those who prefer anglicized terms "Black Juniper", is one of many prime examples of fine perfumes from this exceptional brand.

The noble EdP is a long-lasting (8/10), fresh-spicy men's fragrance that celebrates its Mediterranean origins in an energetic yet pleasantly restrained manner. Bittersweet citrus notes and herbaceous juniper were masterfully arranged with some hand-warm woods and very stylishly used pink pepper to a striking projecting (6/10) extremely appealing fine resinous fragrance composition.

Absolutely remarkable is the price / performance ratio (9/10). If you take into account that the manufacturer has committed to deal gently with natural resources, to use mainly natural ingredients, to pay special attention to health aspects and to renounce animal testing 100%, you have to take your hat off appreciatively before such idealism.

Black Juniper
For me, Ginepro Nero - a scent of the L'Erbolario house, often associated with natural products and located in northern Italy - is an example of how you can always find small, hidden treasures that have sometimes fallen (too) quickly into the category "so similarly already smelled" and then unfortunately often disappear under the radar. In the case of Ginepro Nero, this is particularly true because the general fragrance by which it is often measured has been thwarted by a more or less iconic hype of the 2000s - Terre d'Hermès. But I would like to take this as an opportunity to describe why I think Ginepro Nero is a valuable interpretation of the theme with an interesting character.

If you want to derive the Italian fragrance in the matt black bottle from more well-known fragrances, imagine Ginepro Nero in a triangle whose outer points are formed by Terre d'Hermès EdT, Terre d'Hermès EdP and Montale Red Vetiver. In general one could say that Ginepro Nero is a bit more on the Hermès side and a bit closer to Terre d'Hermès EdP, but this would not capture the picture completely. If you look at the fragrance in a more differentiated way, you can sense isolated images of Hermès' EdT, which, however, are oriented towards the deeper basic tone of the EdP and at least in part have been translated into citrus notes that tend towards the Montale, but are somewhat more moderate and bitter. After this very rough classification on the basis of the mentioned references, I would like to say that L'Erbolario is by no means a perfumed equivalent to Dolly the (clone-)sheep, but a fragrance, which can be recognized as a well-founded concept and made with devotion.

Those who do not know the fragrances mentioned above should not imagine the citrus notes as a typical, citrus-fresh fragrance. The bitter orange it contains is flanked by grapefruit peel and, in combination with bergamot, forms a rather tart citrus component that is cleverly interwoven with the other types of fragrance. The juniper berry is particularly present in the heart note, but without playing a solo role. The cedar merges seamlessly into the overall woody composition and thus ties in with the natural vetiver in the base note, which, together with subtle oak moss and a hint of patchouli, complements the blend with greenish and earthy tones without appearing musty. Elemi resin and benzoin complete the picture with deep, resinous notes and moderately tuned pepper, which contributes to the overall fresh, spicy portions.

Measured against a realistic expected value, the quality of the blend is remarkable. With Ginepro Nero, L'Erbolario doesn't quite come close to what the high-priced niche is partly able to achieve, but clearly leaves behind the often somewhat unloving average performance of some renowned designers. For a fragrance in this segment I am (very) positively surprised.

At the end there is a dark, woody- citric juniper scent with depth and character. Since the "dark" aspects of fragrances in particular are often somewhat subjective and difficult to describe, I try to express the associations as pictorially as possible. Strictly speaking, Ginepro Nero does not appear dark, but rather like soft light in the dark. Comparable perhaps with moonlight, which lies like a coat on the silhouettes of the night. However, not quite so cold and in blue white, but rather a little warmer and in soft tones of terracotta and vermilion. I like it a lot.

PS: Last but not least, the most objective indication possible that the fragrance will probably not meet all requirements. From a purely demographic point of view, I would say that it tends to be a Ü30 fragrance (which you can probably also wear in your mid-20s). If you already have the complete Hermès portfolio on your shelf, you don't necessarily need Ginepro Nero and if you couldn't get anything out of the general Terre d'Hermès "Vibe", you can probably skip it.

Personally I like the scent very much :)

The first thing you can notice is a sweetish note with a tangy, fruity acidity, thanks to the grapefruit rind.

The grapefruit peel is accompanied by an intense bitter, slightly tart note, which has a fresh orange touch and is due to the bitter orange.

These two notes are surrounded by a powerful herbaceous - citric one, which gives the top note a pleasant waking effect and stems from the bergamot.

In the background the clear, light resinous, incense-like fragrant Elemiharz rounds off the top note wonderfully.

This constellation is perceptible on my skin for 20 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

The grapefruit peel is minimally dimmed and thus still very clearly perceptible and combines with a fine aromatic-sweet, berry-like scented note, which gives the fragrance a fine distinctive masculinity and is due to the juniper berry.

The juniper berry is accompanied by an invigorating, peppy, slightly tingling nuance, which is responsible for the fragrance being lifted up into the air and comes from white pepper, which has been used in such a way that no sneezing attacks can occur.

In the background a soft - wooden nuance can be perceived, which gives the scent something supple, even soft-drawn smart and comes from the cedar wood
The heart note is perceptible on my skin for 4.5 hours before the base asserts itself.

The base becomes pleasantly sweet, slightly tart, with a subtle earthy touch and the patchouli in interaction with the vetiver is due to.

These two notes are surrounded by a beautiful, warming balsamic note, which gives the base an interesting, curious aspect and comes from the Sumatra benzoin.

In the background a clear light mossy Hauc rounds off the scent pleasantly.

Ginepro Nero is a great companion in the spring, summer and autumn months for the man over 30 who is looking for a fruity, bitter, resinous, sweetish, aromatic, tart, earthy, balsamic scent that radiates a smart masculinity.

In total, the fragrance lasts 7 hours on my skin.

The Sillage is designed from the beginning in such a way that one is perceived well at one arm's length and this is also maintained for 3.5 hours, before it is reduced in quiet steps until the fragrance finally completely fades away.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our perfume "Verbaplex" for the sample.

Nice cheapie, has some rough edges but when first alcohol goes away it has pretty nice scent-profile. Spring may be best for it.
