Nishane, is that you?
I received the fragrance as a gift and was completely amazed by the first time I touched the beautiful bottle and sniffed it.
If someone had given me a test strip without telling me what it was, I would have spontaneously thought of Nishane. Not an explicit fragrance, but the house DNA.
Oud, earthy patchouli, smoky tobacco and slightly sweet leather make for a very well-rounded, appealing oriental. If you like this scent, you should definitely check it out at this price.
My insider tip: layer with Infinity by Montale, which adds sweetness and depth to the composition.
But the fragrance is also a lot of fun on its own and I find myself wanting to spray it on again and again at home.

Floating in a cookie
A warm, comforting fragrance that envelops and gently cuddles you. You feel like you are surrounded by warm, fragrant Middle Eastern honey sweets, while they are sprinkled with spices and powdered sugar. For the price - absolutely amazing.

I have both worn the fragrance and (insider tip) sprayed it on my bed linen. If you want to fall asleep and wake up in a Byzantine pastry shop - you can do it with this.

If only the cap and the sprayer weren't there... that would have enhanced the fragrance visually and haptically.
Otherwise, this is by far the best mass market fragrance I know.

P.S. I hope it is clear that Byzantium with this note cannot compete with a Xerjoff or similar with the same note ;) The rating takes into account the super low price.

Falling into the monastery with the fir tree
It is March. The slightly warmer sun has caused the snow to melt slightly. Father Sergei knocks the wet snow off his priest's robe and his long beard and drags the freshly chopped, snow-wet fir branches towards the narrow side door of the small chapel. The 14th century chapel stands white and golden against the blue sky and the black, green and white fir forest. With some difficulty and humming to himself, Father Sergei pushes the heavy door open with his shoulder and drags the wet branches into the chapel. The pungent aromas of the wet, resinous fir branches mingle with the smell of the centuries-old walls, incense, ashes, delicate spring flowers and candles.
...
I have not been to Zagorsk, but I have certainly been to Russian Orthodox centers around Moscow.
The fragrance reflects these scent impressions very well.

This fragrance is one of my all-time favorites. First of all, this fragrance is imho the "sneeziest" and coolest non - sneeze designer fragrance that you can find quite often just like that while shopping in the city.

The fact that you can often find the fragrance in boutiques (in Berlin, for example, it was available at Wood Wood in Mitte) also makes it, in my opinion, a possible introduction to more complicated fragrances - away from the sweet designer mash.
The other fragrances in the Incense series are much more pleasing (and boring).

The fragrance is polarizing: some people smell a pine forest, others (less discerning noses) smell cleaning agents.
Slight caution is advised - better not to blind-buy.

Since every fragrance always tells a story - my personal bonus of this fragrance for me: I received a full bottle from my ex-girlfriend after she had used mine, shortly before we broke up. That really enhanced the memory of our relationship :)

Moment - linger
I wake up on the deck of the old boat.
The sun is already quite hot, but it hasn't yet managed to dispel the chill of the night and a fresh, salty smell of the sea rises from below. But the wooden deck heats up pretty quickly. As do the wooden crates on the deck, which are full of dark, shimmering preserving jars. Did we buy honey in Sicily? I think so...
In any case, the aroma of the deck's heating wooden planks is joined by a warm, woolly, honey-like scent. I remain motionless for a moment, enjoying the strange interplay between the salty coolness of the sea and the woody honey sun, before getting up to put on my funny captain's hat. Because the day is just beginning and a new summer is practically like a new life.

Overslept near Turin
Last Saturday I was in the Montale boutique in Paris, standing in front of the shelf on which the 2023 releases were displayed.
There were seven (?) last year, I think. I tried three of them - all three are good: Infinity, Holy Neroli and Lucky Candy. I actually wanted to get something completely different, but in the end I bought Holy Neroli (+ Infinity Travel Spray). Holy Neroli is exactly what I was looking for. A not too complicated, strong, Mediterranean, sweet summer/summer evening scent.

What does it smell like?
It's a village in summery Italy. I've woken up too late and it's getting pretty hot outside.
I'm standing at the open window in the kitchen of the old stone house, looking directly at an orange tree that is in full bloom in front of the window, being pampered by the summer sun.
In the kitchen, various ingredients used to make pastries and sweets are chaotically distributed. Several trays of something sweet are baking in the open. The aromas from the oven mingle with the aromas of the blossoming orange trees, the garden and the heated grass wafting in through the window. "My God...", I think to myself, "I've got it good..."

P.S. With all due respect for different tastes - giving the fragrance a 0.5 is trolling.
