The Best Release of 2020?! Something Between Sweet-Fruity Lime and Floral Trio
My last comment here feels like it was ages ago.
I just had the urge to write a longer text about a fragrance again and to exchange thoughts with all the lovely perfume enthusiasts.
However, the fact that I am finally writing a comment again is mainly due to the way this fragrance captivates and excites me.
I haven't had much experience with the house of Atkinsons yet, but this scent has definitely piqued my interest, and I will be testing several more - that much is certain!!
But now, finally, to the fragrance.

What excites me the most is the opening.
It combines an authentic, sweet, and at the same time refreshing lime note with slightly spicy ginger and a hint of eucalyptus.
These three notes are so wonderfully intertwined that I find the opening so brilliant that I want to include it in my unofficial Top 10 list of all the perfume openings I have ever tested.
However, the fragrance is by no means linear, which I find a bit unfortunate in this case due to the great opening!
It develops into a floral trio - the top notes are only faintly detectable after a while, and a light, airy floral blend of rose and orchid with a small amount of jasmine emerges.
The fragrance is now so light that it almost seems watery.
So far, so good!
However, there is also a significant downside to this fragrance, unfortunately.
That is the sillage and longevity.
With a maximum of 5 hours (more likely less), it is pretty much done on my skin, and it is also quite close to the skin - so it is not really a candidate for purchase, but only kind of.

Now let's get to the headline I chose. In my eyes, and from what I have tested so far this year, it is supposedly the best fragrance or at least one of the best.
I really like it because I find it unique, not synthetic (high quality), and very pleasant in scent character!
In short: The expression “refreshingly different” fits it quite well :)
I am just as fed up with synthetic bombs as I am with the designer or niche variety that is unfortunately flooding the market right now.
Nevertheless, the longevity and sillage mean that I cannot love the fragrance unconditionally; however, I have and will wear this fragrance very often this summer, and it currently ranks among my summer favorites. Additionally, it has greatly increased my interest in the Atkinsons brand and perhaps paved the way for me to numerous other wonderful fragrances.
Feel free to let me know what your favorites from Atkinsons are and what I absolutely must test; I would really be interested to know :)

Simply different - A niche fragrance as described in the book.
Normally, I am more of a man of long words, but with this fragrance, I want to keep it short today, which doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a long text.

I have been extremely captivated by fragrances for several months now, testing new ones daily and regularly going to the perfume shop to expand my collection. The first thing that came to my mind when I unwrapped Pegasus, which was under the Christmas tree for me, and sprayed it on was: This one is different!
I have personally never smelled anything even remotely comparable.
It’s true, it has something metallic that I can’t quite grasp, and it fits very well with the color of the bottle. Additionally, I perceive a prominent almond note that is enveloped by the metallic scent. Accompanying this are notes of lavender and heliotrope.
An incredibly interesting combination. The base note consists mainly of vanilla and subtle woods. Good longevity and sillage! All in all: Not for everyone, but definitely a niche fragrance as described in the book. The only problem: When should one wear it? I can particularly imagine it in winter for upscale occasions.
It’s definitely worth trying out :)

My Best Friend, a Masterpiece with Sufficient Longevity.
Bottle
The bottle is quite simple, yet solid.

Fragrance
First of all: I love smelling this fragrance on a woman in the summer. It is definitely fresh, making it suitable for summer, but at the same time quite sweet and feminine, embedded in a fine note of white musk that gives it some depth. A pleasant depth. My best friend wears this very often in the summer, and I always look forward to seeing her even more. Simply delightful.
To delve a little deeper into the individual fragrance notes. In the opening, I immediately encounter something fresh that can be attributed to the lemon, accompanied by a sweetness that I perceive as synthetic apple.
The depth consists of a delicate, slightly floral note; I catch a hint of jasmine before the entire composition is rounded off by white musk. If you know how white musk smells, you will definitely notice it in the drydown. But the use of the musk is really well done and perfectly completes the whole.

Longevity
The longevity is the only downside; it really leaves something to be desired for a designer fragrance. Although, to be fair, it is at least a bit better than in the original version.

Sillage
The sillage is not really strong, but definitely present. I would say one to two arm lengths, very pleasant for the fragrance.

Light! Elegant! Lemon/Bergamot that doesn't last long :(
Bottle
The bottle is quite simple, but it still convinces me with its detailed elegance! For example, the Christian Dior logo on the sprayer and bottle, as well as the Dior engraving with the blue ring at the bottom of the spray head, are really beautiful details.

Scent
Now to the most important part: the scent itself!
Admittedly, it once convinced me to make a purchase, but I must now say that my enthusiasm is limited, which does not mean that Dior Homme cologne is a bad scent. The opening, which was a major factor in my decision to buy it, consists mainly of one fragrance note: lemon! It is light, in the sense that it is not a heavy but a fresh citrus scent, yet still potent, in that the lemon accord is very clearly noticeable.
Behind this initial scent, which personally reminds me strongly of freshly cut lemon, there is probably one thing: bergamot! Unfortunately, it is also this bergamot note that makes the scent powdery and dry as it develops. Nothing more happens here. For me, definitely not worth buying, but also not a bad scent. The citrus opening is fantastic, but the continuing citrus, bergamot-influenced development is, in my opinion, not pleasant.

Longevity/Sillage
Average for a fresh scent. I would have expected a bit more from a Dior.

Usage
For me, definitely a summer scent that pairs well with a white suit due to its fresh elegance!

Conclusion
In the end, more of a personal disappointment than an enrichment, but still not a bad scent.
For people who enjoy the scent of lemons and a very strong dry bergamot note (which for me personally almost leads to headaches), it's a good choice in
summer!

A fruity-fresh summer scent!
Bottle
There's nothing negative to say about the bottle, but also nothing really positive, as it is very simple and by no means creative.

Scent
The scent is definitely more exciting.
In the opening, it is very fruity, thanks to an innovative rhubarb note that I personally really like and find quite creative.
The fruity notes of quince and rhubarb create a rather strong sweetness in the opening, which does weaken a bit over time but still remains constant. Along with the sweet-fruity notes, there are already slightly woody-masculine notes that become stronger a few minutes after spraying, but still remain more in the background.
Specifically, I can detect a peppery note as well as a cedarwood accord paired with a bit of musk.
Due to the characteristic fruity-fresh note of the fragrance, it is definitely a summer scent for me, which I prefer to wear during the day, but it would also work in the evening (though there are definitely better options).
To sum it up, especially because of the rhubarb note that I personally enjoy, I find the scent really innovative and pleasant.
However, it is quite fruity and thus slightly misses the mark for me (the balance provided by the woody notes is, in my opinion, not sufficient). Still, it's not a bad scent; in my opinion, it's even the best Lacoste fragrance. I would only recommend it if you are a rhubarb fan like me, or if you are looking for something really fruity (sweet) for men in the summer. Objectively, I would rate the scent a 7, but as a rhubarb fanatic (okay, a bit hyperbolic), an 8 is also conceivable.

Longevity
The longevity is satisfactory for a (Lacoste) fragrance in this price range, but it could be a bit better. On my skin, it lasts between 5 and 7 hours.

Sillage
The sillage is somewhat better than the longevity and really surprised me in the test, very pleasant.
