Shoulda Been Its Own Thing
First, "Azurēe | Estēe Lauder" , the original is artistry in itself!
In these recent seasons of high price originality, Azurêe would have been a perfect release …and Estee Lauder has been itching at injecting their earlier, original in nature, scents(,,, which seasons past where considered faux pas),, into an overpriced market.

So here we have it ..with Azurêe Legacy.

And it is every bit of the definition of high price originality!
The cumin/turmeric touch is everything, I tell you !!!!
Strong, dominant, in an already dominant fragrance; -It’s as if it was always meant to be there. BTW: Original Azurêe is completely in the makeup of this one, but the cumin/turmeric matters! …to the point that this ….Shoulda Been Its Own thing!

And it would’ve made sense if it had been ..or will be, its own thing ..in the same vein of Guerlain L’Initial branching from Shalimar and all.
It more likely belongs in the Estee Lauder Luxury Collection (that ranges in the $100 –$200 bracket)….next to their other fantastic original Infinite Sky, and with a different name–maybe Legacy or something. Totally need to separate it from the original Azurêe and the wrath of its fans to even consider messing with the artistry of the original.

However, Estee Lauder shouldn’t give up on this one!
Maybe they know what they are doing already.
You see, I’ve yet to review the original Azurêe, so I guess it is a win for them
But really this new legacy ,,,Shoulda been its own thing!

A Closeted Festive Season Fragrance.
I don't know ...
Bergamote Calabria give me strong Festive Season vibes (Christmas, Winter Solstice, New Year's)

I did wear it during the Pandemic of 2020 Festive Season.

From the nozzle you get the bergamot, citrus; ---from the nozzle to the application, actually.
However, a spicy essence then presents itself. It seem moderate at first ,,but then the ginger and cardamon becomes dominate while always holding that citrus touch.

I came about this fragrance due to the lotion form. The lotion is just titled something like ..'Lotion with Bergamot'. So, I thought this would be perfect to probably carry the docile in longevity Eaux Fraiche like Imperial, Coq. However, the minute I sniffed the lotion, I got a bite from the spices.
So, I comes to find out, ----that the lotion was base, and directly base, on this fragrance.
(BTW, despite it online instruction, the lotion is not meant for layering with other Guerlain scents except Bergamote Calabria, in my opinion.)

Also, and finally, (I don't mind sharing)
I was pronouncing this wrongly
I pronounced, as an American English speaker 'Calabria' like 'California'. So 'Calibria'
Instead of Kah - Lah - Bria. Oh, gees.

Either way, it is a terribly fantastic fragrance. To me, it is an essential Guerlain fragrance, in that it embodies the Guerlain smell, more so than any other fragrance.

Bergamote Calabria is a dynamic fragrance, that, on the down low, ---also embodies the winding down of the year and it's many celebration with it's spicy touch.

A Dynamic Sweet Tobacco Scent
This is one of my favorite and one of the best sweet tobacco fragrance out there.

Yes, the first thing I did when I smell this (around Halloween) was make the comparison to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille.

To me, for some reason, I consider West Third Brand Tobacco 1812 to be better fragrance!
It may have to do with it's price point compared to other Sweet Tobacco fragrances.
It has always been reasonable priced( under $50.00 for a 2.0 fl.oz) ...and yet, it performs just as well as many great couture, sweet tobacco fragrances.
--it has the same strong reach and hold.
--the tobacco in it is dominant, yet it masterfully circles around a nice fruit (peach) accord
It also circles around those sweet notes that makes it slightly cocoa'ed or vanilla-ish. --much like many of the others.
There have been times when I could option Tobacco Vanille (afford it) ,,,but I have always come back to this one.
Actually I was prompted to review this, due to the new but unobtainable and unjustifiably priced
( ...at this moment) release of Guerlain Tobacco Honey.
Tobacco 1812 is just as swell as that.

West Third Brand Tobacco Honey is simply is one of the best sweet tobacco fragrances out there and I'm just glad it is quietly around ..and accessible.

Essence of an Ordinary Fire
There are plenty sweet tobacco fragrance in the market.

Is Tobacco Honey just another one ???

Yes ...and no.

Tobacco Honey is not revolutionary. If you own...say... Diptyque Volutes, or that one from Hermes ... Ambre Narguiles. Speaking of Narguile and Diptyque, having the Narguile candle is almost like owning Tobacco Honey. Especially at Tobacco Honey price point.
P.S: There's a real fantastic under-the-radar and quite affordable sweet tobacco scent call Tobacco 1812 by West Third Brand that compete well with this.

However the standout of this fragrance lies in:
1.) Its throw or reach.
It's strong.

2.) It's theme.
This really evokes the nicotine in tobacco. This is a very realistic cigarette, but a pleasant one.
Tobacco Honey almost nail incineration--like the smoke from Canadian Fire.

3.) There is the essence of Guerlain sweetness in it, that only ...well ...Guerlain does.

No I wouldn't really compare it to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Tobacco Vanille may not be better, but it was original, and ironically this Guerlain is holding a candle to Tom Ford.
Actually when I gets to thinking about it...Guerlain should have release this years ago. ...but what we have today really is remarkable, especially if you haven't experienced it elsewhere.

A Multifaceted Fragrance -Different from Start to Finish
What I like about Oud Yuzu is it's embodiment of a multi-noted fragrance.
It is not the same scent when it ends, from how it begins.
So, this is not one of those scent where all the notes play together throughout its cycle.
It literally has a 'burn-off' effect!

Oud Yuzu starts of with a dominant Yuzu, making it noticeably fitting for the collection it is in
-'Aqua Allegoria'. It's almost a soapy/citrus kind of domination!

By the end of it's fragrance life cycle, however, the Oud pronounces it's resinous nature ---which now puts it more in line with the 'Absolu' Collection of Guerlain fragrances.
You would swear it was Santal Royale, etc. in it's dry down!

In fact, you can smell the Oud slightly from the nozzle! So, you should expect it to end that way somehow, but you could be easily fooled by that citrusy, soapy start; --to the point one would think the Oud note is tepid to nonexistent.
By the end you realize it is not tepid at all!(...by standards west of the Prime Meridian)

Here's a thought on the three 'Aqua Allegoria-Forte' releases (2023).
---They are affordable(relatively speaking....) options to the more expensive collections of Guerlain fragrances.
(Oud Yuzu being an affordable option to the fragrances in the 'Absolu' line)

So if you ever dreamed about owning a Guerlain Oud, Oud Yuzu is your gateway!
