Yes? No? Yes? No? YES!!!
To briefly explain my subject line: I was out having a drink with my wife at a cafe in our town in the evening when we ran into two friends of mine. One of them had applied Blue Talisman as an EdP, which is why my next stop the following day was directly at the city perfumery. But there, the fragrance suddenly smelled completely different and absolutely nothing like it had the evening before on him.

Well, I bought it anyway and bitterly regretted it at first. Weeks went by and I had the fragrance unopened in its original packaging. I had taken a shower shortly before we went to bed and thought, "come on, I'll give it another chance". My wife's reaction was one of the reasons why I finally understood this fragrance and have been wearing it almost every day, for every occasion, ever since.

About the fragrance: I know -NO- fresh fragrance that really lasts as long as the Extrait de Parfum version of Blue Talisman. In my opinion, the fragrance is very clearly dominated by freshly picked and perfectly ripe pear falling into an ice-cold smoothie or cocktail. For this summer of 2026, I was looking for a "fresh fragrance" and can confirm that I have finally found this ONE. Paired directly with the bergamot, these two notes are very clearly at the forefront.

The longevity is truly INSANE and I also don't know how Ex Nihilo managed to achieve it. Respect!!! My wife describes the fragrance as "very masculine" and "mature", which I normally don't associate with citrus fragrances, especially since I have many "more masculine" fragrances from Amouage at home.

Conclusion: If you're looking for a truly long-lasting fragrance for special and everyday occasions, want to stand out from the crowd and collect compliments, and prefer citrus notes, then in my opinion you have to invest the nearly €400.00 for the 100ml and the Extrait and definitely can't pass it up!

I am glad I opened the original packaging again to ultimately immerse myself more deeply in this fragrance masterpiece.

Never ending love story
Wow… The 4th fragrance from the house of Amouage in my collection, and what can I say?

I love heavy oud fragrances combined with incense; after all, I am strongly influenced by Purpose 50, which is among my top 3 favorite scents.

I am writing this review at 2:00 AM; my wife and I just returned home from a hot, yes really, A HOT wedding day. Opinions may vary, but in my opinion, dark and leathery fragrances are best worn on hot days, of course matching the outfit (today it was a mint-colored suit with mud-colored loafers), as they really shine in that context.

3 sprays are more than enough to take the entire wedding venue of 125 people on a journey to Oman. Not to mention the compliments, I was frequently asked about Interlude Black Iris that day, which settles the topic of sillage. Longevity is a solid 9/10, nothing to worry about with Amouage.

It’s important to know that I have never smelled the regular Interlude!! But be careful!! I was really surprised by the intensity with which this fragrance hit me at first (unfortunately negatively) upon first application of Black Iris. Clearly, the rosemary stands out with incense and other initially dark and “piercing” notes.

But then…….. Drydown……. and here begins the actual evaluation of this fragrance; Amouage has once again managed to balance all heart and base notes so harmoniously yet still present and overwhelmingly masculine that this fragrance is, for ME, an absolute masterpiece. It is clearly a statement and definitely not for every nose. In the drydown, this incredible warmth emerges for me, enveloping the prominent incense and rosemary, making it sweeter and rounder, yet still very assertive.

Blind Buy? NO
Recommendation to buy? YES

Arrived in my Enclave
I have now tried Reflection Man, Purpose 50, and this one from the house of Amouage…

And from the very first spray, Enclave completely captivated me. It was one of those moments when I just knew: I need this!

What fascinates me so much is this unique combination of cool mint (which I have never smelled in perfumes before) and a deep, dark warmth. To my nose, it gives the impression of ripe, dark, and fruity forest berries that grow somewhere in a dense, shady forest between moss and rocks. Fresh, mysterious, and incredibly elegant at the same time. I can't tell you why berries, but that's just how my nose perceives it haha.

In recent years, I have smelled many niche fragrances, but none have affected me like Enclave. It is neither ordinary nor does it try to please everyone. It tells its own story and evolves with every wearing moment without losing its direction.

Such fragrances are simply rare and should always remain for "people like us," as we don't want to run with the broad "Douglas mass" (no front hahah).

The only thing that disappoints me a bit is that the mint dissipates "relatively quickly," as this extreme freshness combined with the other notes makes the fragrance so perfect for me.

I would even say that since it is one of the less "bold & striking" fragrances from the house of Amouage, one could even dare a blind buy…

Have fun with it!

Complete Taste Confusion
One thing right off the bat: I am aware that this fragrance costs only about 30-40€.

That's exactly the point, as it clearly smells like it. There is not a single positive scent association that I can attribute to this EDP. Neither the opening is good, nor the dry down, no fragrance notes, it simply smells like bitter grapefruit.

Why this Afnan has almost exclusively positive reviews is truly a mystery to me. Every 99 cent Balea shower gel from DM lasts longer. Only the bottle is really well made as usual and feels very high quality.

Since I also secured a ticket for the hype train, I was once again reminded why there are niche fragrances that are worth their price, and I am very glad about that!

Afnan, sorry but that was such a hard miss…

-MY OPINION-

Reflection? Or just blinded by the hype?
I own extraordinary fragrances; I have mainstream perfumes; and recently I acquired Reflection Man...

Maybe it was the high expectations? Or maybe the scent just isn't for me...

I’ll be honest with you, and thankfully tastes are so different. This EDP is by no means bad, that’s the first thing to say!!!

But the hype surrounding this fragrance and the multiple awards? I can name countless scents that do it better (e.g., LV Imagination). The scent just doesn’t captivate me in the overall package.

The scent: I have to say that the opening and the smell from the bottle and the first spray are what I would rate the highest, because here it’s simply this floral freshness with patchouli, very dominant, that completely captivates and convinces me. At first, you perceive a breathtaking floral freshness and sweetness that fills the entire room. On the skin, however, this scent smells to me like a €20 DM perfume that you bought just before closing time because you wanted to smell "pleasant" quickly.

Longevity, in my opinion, is abysmal. Yes, it’s an original and by no means a counterfeit, but after about 4 hours, I smell almost NOTHING anymore... As I said, I don’t think this scent smells "bad," but for the price, especially from Amouage, I expect something different.

Is it my skin? I have no idea, but after the short dry down, it’s just this smell of being classically fresh and floral, which every Axe 3-in-1 shower gel for €3.99 can achieve just as well. Even my wife, who has been very influenced by scents over the years and also owns niche fragrances, even said that the scent smells terrible. I can’t confirm that, but it did surprise and astonish me since she usually has such good taste.

I thought for a very long time about buying this EDP, read reviews, watched videos, and bought it directly along with Reflection 45, and I must simply say that it has been the worst blind buy I’ve ever made in my 7 years. A blind buy for nearly €400? Sure, silly, but that’s my issue, and unfortunately, I was disappointed for the first time.

I can therefore absolutely not understand or confirm these consistently good and very good reviews.

People... The scent is "good," but in my opinion, nothing more, especially not three times for nearly €400.00.
