Does anyone know some animalic fragrances that are not heavy and/or masculine leanimg? Does it even exist, actually? I always wanted to have an animalic scent to wear when I feel wild  but heavy/masculine scents are not my type (btw I already own CK Obsession)

Maybe Galop d'Hermès is something you might check out. I was looking for something similar but discovered that that one was feminine leaning.

@PaulaAlves It would help to know which notes you like. Ambergris, musk, fur, barnyard oud, cumin?

La Tsarine is definitely a wild one. I love almost anything animalic and took a chance blind buying La Tsarine. It's feminine and very sensual.

You may also want to explore Francesca Bianchi's work. Try her discovery sets. I love Under My Skin and Sex and The Sea and Angel's Dust (Angel's Dust isn't really animalic though).

You may also like vintage Jicky Eau de Toilette.

@Ceesie and @Chrysoptera thanks for the recs! I'll try to check them out Smile

Very animalic one I tested not long ago is Stag. Unfortunately , House of Orpheus no longer ships outside the US.

Also, Lui is very good. It's an animalic patchouli.

They sure do! Try Tigre du Bengale

Not quite animalic but:

CH Men by Carolina Herrera

Has just the perfect blend of sweet, masculine, aromatic and a liiiitle bit animalic that wow...

I second Jicky Eau de Parfum or any of the other concentrations. It's one of the better options in this category as far as I'm concerned. It's very unisex with a prominent civet note in the base, but the fragrance as a whole is not overpowering. It's actually quite fresh and spicy, and very easy to wear. It is quite old though, which may turn some people away.

Myrrhe Mystère was a bit animalic to me. It could be worth a shot especially if you like spicy fragrances, but it is expensive.

@Smirky Thanks for turning me on to the House of Orpheus. Looks pretty intriguing. I just ordered a bunch of samples including Stag .

Tigre du Bengale

This one's on my wish list!

I love this topic, feminine animalics. Keep 'em coming!

(Okay, I love masculine animalics too, even the ones I wouldn't personally wear out of the house).

@Chrysoptera just be very patient. The perfumer is not into perfumes anymore but blacksmithing.  He only ships orders once a month. Depending on where your order fell on the cycle, it could be 5 to 6 weeks before you get your order.

Have you ever smelt Sécrétions Magnifiques ? It's definitively the most animalic scent I have ever smelt.

But never ever blind buy it, you might find it repulsive. I had the opportunity to test it last week and the lady at the shop sprayed it outside. It has a soft and almost innocent opening but it becomes quickly a scent from hell.

Not animatic at all, in my nose, weird ✅ floral ✅ kinda stinky ✅, but animalic I can’t pick up, sadly 😩

This could be a bit more challenging, but it`s a masterpiece in my book and I can`t get enough of it: III-II Romanza. It can be polarizing, but if you fall in the "Love it!" camp, it`s well worth a sniff. The most beautiful narcissus with civet I`ve ever come across, imho. The civet is not listed in the notes, but who are they kidding?

1

@Raluko111 I have a sample of III-II Romanza that I'm looking forward to trying!

@PaulaAlves Ooh, I might as well mention Salome which features hyraceum (Africa stone). This is a brash sexy scent. Not for the faint of heart. Meant to smell like sex on skin--it does!

Animalic is my least favourite genre because animalics are the only type if fragrances that has ever given me headache or nausea. Slightly animalic notes in the background are fine but heavily animalic are usually a no for me. However there are a few exceptions, for example I really like Ombré Leather (2018) Eau de Parfum and Original Musk Blend No. 1.

+1 on The Lover's Tale

I never thought I’d like animalics but boy is that stuff good!

Bergamask for citrusy animalic

My first thought also is Jicky Eau de Parfum The aromatic quality of the perfume prevents it from acting too animalic and still it is a little animalic. Could be just what the doctor ordered Smile. I would choose this latest release though because the vintage is even more animalic-heavy (and way more expensive).

Oh and Ysatis Eau de Toilette. It's feminine, animalic and decent sillage and longevity though the former version Ysatis Parfum was a bit better 'performance-wise', but if you want something not too strong, this latest one may be just what you like. I think this would be better for a night out than Jicky maybe...
