We all have our go-to fragrances we keep repurchasing, I just don't have the heart to throw the empty ones away given how pricey they are and how pretty the bottle is. But I also don't want to hoard a bunch of empty bottles. Is there a way to recycle/repurpose them? Or any brands that refill them? I thought it'd be fun to repurpose some into candles but they're hard (and kind of dangerous?) to open. What do you guys usually do?
What do you guys do with empty perfume bottles?
@Ayomiyukki Hi!Empty bottles are a problem. I'm already feeling depressed thinking about how to separate and throw away my Sabrina Carpenter bottles once I've finished them.
The Guerlain AA series has refillable bottles.Jour d'Hermès Eau de Parfum is also refillable.
I saw someone in my country using an empty Diptyque bottle as a vase, but it seems you need to use pliers to pry the metal fittings open.
Also, for some reason, I often see people selling empty bottles on flea market sites in my country, but I've never seen anyone buying them. If the bottles are elaborate, there's a good chance there will be collectors, but I think it's difficult.
So for now, I don't see any other way to deal with them other than throwing them away.
As much as I love the bottles but I end up throw most of them. I keep the couples that have strong memory attached and not possible to find anymore (discontinued).
I rarely empty so I tend to keep them. Like my OG Champs-Elysees.

How is your sense of smell doing, @PerfumeL0v3r ? I remember you suffering from anosomia some time ago, is it better now? Hope so!!
I'm more of a pragmatic person, so all my empty bottles go in the recycling bin and that's that.
Farewell my friend, start a new life as a water bottle, or a bowl or thermal insulation, whatever 😅
However, there are now several brands that also have refill versions of their perfumes in their ranges: e.g. Mugler, Guerlain, Lancôme, Armani, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Dior ...
Basically, almost all popular designer perfumes are now available as refills

It’s either 100% back or 99% back (I think I’m having issues with allergies now lol I can’t win.) Being able to taste and smell is crucial to my sanity.

Ah good to read it's back. Sorry to read about the allergies though 😒...
What is an empty bottle? What is this impossibility you speak of? 😂
We recycle in Japan, so most empties go that route. There are only two bottles that I've loved enough to keep: the Lolita Lempicka old bottles that were shaped like apples and the Le Feu d'Issey bottle.

This lol 🤣 So yeah, emptying a bottle is a super rare occasion to me. Sometimes it happens though.
There are certain brands that do refills, for example Mugler and Armani. I have never tried that though. I have used empty bottles as decorational items for example in the garden, or my mum makes also art and crafts of recycled materials so I will attach here a photo what she made of old Splendor and
MyQueen bottles 😁 In Finland perfume bottles, even when empty, are classified as dangerous/flammable waste so I never want to bin them really. Also I have noticed that many people collect empty bottles so gifting or selling them in a secondhand store / flea market / ebay etc. would probably be an option too. However like I said thankfully I'm hardly never emptying bottles so it's not a problem for me really.
Trash bin in the past, but now with a large collection it doesn't happen anymore I finish a bottle
I store my empty bottles in the garbage bin, I do my part to grow the garbage mans collection.
I don't get attached to things so I just throw them into the recycle bin.
I just threw a bottle in the recycling bin yesterday.
I usually do that, too, except for bottles that have great atomizers. Cleaned and repurposed one Masque Milano bottle to use for another fragrance that I love, but that came in the worst container ever.

I've saved two pretty l'Artisan ones (the old ones with the heavy hexagonal golden cap) for display purposes. Can't display full bottles bc light degrades the juice, so that works. When another pretty bottle goes empty I'll consider displaying it (Mona di Orio champagne cork bottle) - the rest goes into the trash.
