is there such a thing as a "chill"/cooling vanilla?

is there such a thing as a "chill"/cooling vanilla? 3

it feels a little like i'm asking for something impossible. cuz first off, how do you even describe or understand what a "cooling" fragrance is like? personally it's more of a sensation than a particular note. maybe it doesn't even exist to begin with. i think of how refreshing and sharp some scents are, and think that maybe this is it? and then there's the issue of vanilla being basically inherently "warm", so how would you even cool it?? can this only be achieved through layering? is it even possible?!!

ANYWAY

any chilling/cool vanilla recommendations? what is a chill scent to you? do you know of any other type of sweet/creamy "chill" scent? are you having a good summer? thanks so much, have a good one yall 🌴

@kushbreth I love your questions and energy 🙌 and hope you're having a good summer so far, too! 🏖️

You're right vanilla is a warm note by nature, but paired with other notes that give a "colder" feeling (mint/tea/patchouli/metal/etc.), you can get a nice balance - so I've definitely experienced vanillas with "chilled" undertones!

On a Cloud is one of those since it's paired with a cool, refreshing mint! (It is a bit gourmand, though - there are some good reviews from others about it, up on its page)

i'm scared of vanilla/mint combinations smelling too christmas-y or too peppermint-y (i really hate peppermint but i like mint under certain conditions). so happy to get a recc from u @Gourmandgrl!! its weird im not normally super into gourmands but this summer i've been obsessed with trying to find the right vanilla.... very odd. i'll def check out On a CloudVery Happy

Orange Sanguine is first and foremost a citrus fragrance, so I'm not sure if it would fit your requirements; but on my body it's pretty long lasting, and once orange fades after the first 2 hours of wear, fresh green vanilla-like scent takes over and dominates the composition for the remaining 5 hours ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

luckily i do actually love orange scents, i usually lean towards orange paired with some kind of pepper but i'll check that out!!

Hi,@kushbreth,I'm actually in the same paradox as you. I'm looking for a "vanilla ice cream perfume" but like you said, I feel like that's impossible to achieve. How do you recreate "cold vanilla" in a scent? I saw somewhere that "if you add eucalyptus essential oil and vanilla essential oil, it will taste like ice cream", but I don't know. If I had to say, Creed's Les Royales Exclusive Sublime Vanille was similar, but it's too expensive.
For now, I'm planning to check these out, but I always feel bad because they're only sold in Japan. If I get a chance to try them, I'll review them.

This is also apparently "Cool Vanilla". I haven't tried it.

Vanilla Water EDT SP 30mL
According to reviews, it's a vanilla cream Frappuccino with crunchy ice, but I'm not sure.

@Akira1005 so glad to know there's someone else looking for something that feels nonexistant. i've been trying to find a "cold" vanilla ice cream scent too, i've been on a wild vanilla search for the past few weeks. that sora fragrance sounds awesome, an ice note sounds so good

Metallique airy, aldehydic vanilla

Aura Eau de Parfum green, mentholated vanilla (it's discontinued, but it's still available on the secondary market)

For a cool vanilla I would recommend Vanilla Nomad by Sana Jardin or Eau Duelle by Diptyque.

By the way, how do people tag in fragrances?

@ZowieEau Duelle Eau de Toilette smells nice.
If you enter the name of the perfume after #, a thumbnail will appear.

I think I adviced you this one before on another thread, but again Jicky Eau de Parfum comes to mind Smile.

Vanilla, but aromatic. Unisex by today's standards.

Contre Bombarde 32! To be honest not really for me but everyone I know likes it. Like a luxury lip balm

I would suggest Vanille, a light vanilla fragrance with a "chill feel" to it (hence the mint in it). Beautiful and quite unique fragrance, well-balanced, longevity is average (4/5 hours) and sillage is moderate the first 2 hours, after that it's intimate.
