Scent of the Day

My scent of the day is Louis Vuitton Imagination. Funny thing is that I’m selling almost all my perfumes because they become redundant since appearance of this beauty in my collection 

Hi @Smirky, I'm always intrigued by these names of the perfumes from Zoologist. I always wonder how the scent relates to the animal after which it is named. Do you have any association with the animal when wearing these perfumes? Or does the animal inspire you to try it or do you just look up the notes or try the perfume no matter the animal after which it is named? I would be tempted to pick Koala because it such a fluffy, lovely creature, but I always wonder if the scent matches that image...? Ofcourse I understand the Eucapyptus because that's what they eat, but other than that...any resemblance to the animal or more to their surroundings?

Hi @Ringtale, I can't say for Zoologist in general since this is only the second one I've tried. The ones I've chosen were based on notes, accords and reviews, not the animal. The first was Hyrax which is very animalic, but not in a bad way. It smelled like a weak leather scent. So, I guess that would be more related to the animal rather than it's surroundings. Rhinoceros (2020) seemed to waver back and forth between a very nice tobacco scent and a picture of a hot, dry African savanna - sort of like a dry grass or hay smell. In this case, it was the surroundings.

I'm at home today, so will by trying my last sample, Dodo (2020) . I'm always up for a challenge and am curious if it will be as bad as some reviews say. It certainly can't smell like the animal and the surroundings were a tropical island. The cumin will make it interesting. 😃

@Smirky, thanks for the insight! I love that Dodo bottle by the way Very curious about how you will find the scent! Saw the reviews and could be a challenge indeed..maybe that's why it's called 'Dodo' because here in the Netherlands we say: "Dappere Dodo" (meaning: Brave Dodo) when someone takes on a difficult challenge . 

SOTD for me is YSL MYSLF, love the floral note in this and reminds me a lot of YSL Libre which is my gf's signature scent .

@Ringtale, an update. Yes, it invokes the tropical island on which the dodos lived. Not challenging at all, quite wearable, but not memorable.
