What’s your go-to coffee order?

What’s your go-to coffee order? 3

I love coffee and I’m nosey, sue me.

My usual is black coffee with a splash of oat milk.

For the longest time, it was an oat milk latte with lavender syrup. Tragically, I made the grievous mistake of moving close to a downtown area full of coffee shops. It allowed me to order one whenever I wanted it. I went mad with power. It pains me to say that I’m now pretty much sick of them. Don’t be like me, kids!

At my favorite local coffee place I always choose a large cappuccino with red velvet coffee syrup. I think I tested more than 50 different coffee syrups before settling on this particular one (it adds a mellow sweetness to the coffee without overwhelming its own flavor, 10/10), but now I've been choosing it exclusively, daily, for more than a year. Two years? Hard to say, life's been a bit of a blur recently.

If I'm buying coffee somewhere else, I tend to go for a latte with a neutral syrup – chocolate, caramel, Baileys or whatnot. I rarely come across people who can make genuinely tasty coffee, and a sweet creamy latte is the safest way to offset the charred bitterness of the improperly prepared one.

I’m basic and not in the pumpkin spice latte way. I just like a simple latte with almond milk, no syrups, no sugar.
And espresso shots. Nothing exciting. I don’t experiment with any add-ons or flavors. Maybe I should start doing that once in a while. A couple of times a year I get giant frappuccinos with caramel, cream, and everything in them, but those have like 1000 calories and are way too sweet for me to have more often...

If I'm in a french/italian restaurant I usually just go for an espresso macchiato with half a spoon of sugar. If I'm in a more american-style café I get an oat cappuccino (or in wintertime maybe something spicy as long as it's not too sweet). I love oat milk but not often enough to go through even 500ml at home so I get my fix at cafés.

Also I've never seen red velvet syrup but now I'm very curious! I'll keep an eye out if anywhere has it.

If I'm at at either one of my two favorite local coffee shops I get a churro or horchata latte or a seasonal flavor. Both locations make their own flavored sauces so it's always cool to see what they come up with!

If I'm at a coffee franchise like 7Brew I get their cookie butter latte with oat milk.

Otherwise a lightly sweetened oat milk latte or an unsweetened oat milk latte if I'm pairing it with a pastry. 😎

Straight black! No cream. No sugar. No sweetener.

if it's hot outside, straight black iced coffee.

I really am a snob and prefer my own cold brew from home, or even drip.

But if I'm out I'll do an americano with heavy cream and honey (or stevia) sometimes I'll dump good cinnamon or pumpkin spice in there if they have it.

I love so many different types of coffee so my order actually depends on the season and also on what else I'm ordering in the café. If I should choose only one "signature" type go-to coffee order, that would probably be iced mocha as I usually prefer cold drinks instead of hot ones. But if I'm having something sweet like a piece of chocolate cake with the coffee, then I'm always ordering something non-sweet with it, for example a double espresso or an unsweetened cappuccino. During the autumn season my favourite is of course PSL, and during the Christmas time I enjoy nutty lattes.

Simple! If I want to spare the others from my cupping slurps, I usually go for a couple of V60 or Chemex and wait silently judging barista’s every move, checking in/out weights and timing the draw downs.

Black with sweetener. If I'm making it at home it's Kona coffee in a French press.

Nothing but Turkish coffee. With a touch of leatherwood honey. Wish someone would make a perfume like that.
