I admit that I had no idea what to expect from this one but I was pleasantly surprised by Bruno Banani "Woman".

On my skin the freesia is the first and most powerful note (I love freesia, so that is always a good thing) it's not a 'slap-you-in-the-face' note, but rather a fresh and light freesia that is quickly teamed up with water-lily (which adds a 'water fresh' vibe) then vanilla, musk and in the drydowm a faint orange note help make this a very pretty and easy to wear floral with a fresh character.

I got this for a steal and I must say that all-in-all it's a very well blended scent. I find that most of the time when I am surprised by a "cost effective" scent, the "nose" behind its creation explains it al. Thierry Wasser has made some real beauties and he has clearly tried to make a good value/price scent.

A fun & affordable scent for all round wear and perfect for spring / summer. It's more fresh-floral than sweet and is a very pretty & happy scent. Let it settle after you spray it because it needs a bit of time to unfold.

Silage is: "pretty fresh florals that are amplified by a spray on your clothes" - longevity is good with on me 5+ hours.

A must sniff for people who would like to sample an affordable freesia-fresh based scent in a modern bottle. Enjoy! : )

So I picked up a perfume pen of this for 3 euro's, very cheap. I figured it was perfect for taking it on the plane with me as it's more of a balm and it doesn't come in a glass bottle.

Unfortunately I'm not crazy about the scent. The musk overpowers from the moment I apply it. It's quite strong, it almost chokes me out when I wear it. I can also smell the lily-of-the-valley, which is a note I tend to dislike. I get no peach, vanilla, orange or water lily. I top it with other scents now to tone the lily-of-the-valley and the musk down, I have found citrus scents work well. Sillage is okay, it stays pretty close to the skin. Longevity is disappointing, I get no more than 3 hours of wear of this. This worn on its own is barely a like for me though.

A pale pink sale shaped bottle , a very feminine , clean but also warm bouquet, a sense of cleanless: this is Bruno Banani. An easy to wear perfume perfect as every day scent, in the free time as well as at the office for its light and discrete sillage.
You can perceive waterlily and freesia soft notes made warmer by a vanilla touch at the base. A vanilla not too sweet or sweetish, not oriental or gourmand, but only suggested and good balanced.
The longevity isn't so good , the sillage maybe is a little weak, but you can spray this scent in summer too for its lightness. Just the perfect "casual " scent for every day.
The perfume is available as one 40ml size and the price is affordable.

Bruno Banini belongs to youth for me,
like braces and glasses in the 6th grade.

Usually the first "real" perfume.
Man, how proud one was, now you belonged,
like the first cigarette on the schoolyard, Dr. Sommer in Bravo, and the first alcoholic experiences. Bruno was always there.

Mom's fragrances were always great,
but they just didn’t quite fit into a teenager's world,
too heavy, mostly not too sweet and already more mature.

Bruno was a super alternative,
a kitschy bottle (supposed to represent the horn of a she-devil), pink and strange, the scent is simply sweet yet brilliantly penetrating, had the advantage that after every secretly smoked cigarette, you could spray on BBWoman, chew gum, then Mom wouldn’t smell anything, and it’s available for little money. The first French kiss, the first pub crawl, the first time out at night. The girls all smelled like Bruno, the boys all smelled like Bruno, Bruno had youth all to himself. When a teenage boy bought perfume for a teenage girl, he scraped together his pocket money and there was the pink Bruno, and the teenage girl was crazy happy and carefully placed the bottle among the other 1000.

Today I am no longer 16 and braces and glasses are a thing of the past, no more "disco pub crawls" in rundown places like "the old frog" and vodka-cherry happy hour at the "Old Daddy Saloon," no more secret cigarettes in the school bathroom and groping to Bravo Hits 99 is also history, the girls have thrown their Wendy makeup in the bin (at least I hope so!!!) and Leo DiCaprio has also made it off the wallpapered and postered bedroom wall (I hope this too!!!).

Bruno IS CULT, I want to emphasize this clearly at this point. There I stand in front of the 8th grade, in the front row sit the girls, and what do I smell? Exactly, Bruno - back then as today, the scent belongs, and I must say, that’s why it can also be counted as a classic, because the sales figures from back then are exactly the same as today. For me, such perfume classics can be called that, as they have managed to survive for years and remain in people's memories.

Conclusion:

At this point, I want to spare myself and you the conclusion,
because Bruno has simply been experienced and that's a good thing.

Admittedly: The song is not from my teenage years, as I am a few years younger. Still, I wore and loved this fragrance quite often between the ages of 15 and 18. To make matters worse, I layered the pink horror with Impulse deodorant (Vanilla Kisses) AND slathered myself from head to toe with Bettina Barty vanilla lotion. On top of that, I had a decent cloud of Davidoff Classics... I must have smelled really terribly overpowering, but let's leave the youthful sins as youthful sins and focus on the essentials: A not entirely objective little comment on a rather extraordinary bargain that has bravely held its ground on drugstore shelves for over ten years.

Recently, I was at dm to run boring but necessary errands. After toothpaste, laundry detergent, and tealights landed in my basket, I was drawn to the perfume section, which I usually avoid. As a perfume geek who normally doesn't let cheap scents touch my wrist, I had to look around a bit sheepishly - not wanting anyone to recognize me here. And there it was: The crooked pink pointy hat from days gone by. For the sake of old times, I sprayed a tiny bit on the back of my hand and immediately felt a bit sentimental when I had to admit that I still somehow like the stuff. A brief consideration: "Can you really wear this at 25?" and then the familiar perfume voices in my head: "What you like is allowed, you can wear anything you find good!" - and since my wallet has been rather empty lately, as I have to stretch every cent as a poor intern with my own household and perfume purchases are rather rare, I didn't hesitate long and took the little box to the checkout.

At home, I shamelessly and wastefully sprayed it around first. I think the scent is far too often labeled as sugary and sweet. For me, it rather plays in the "sweet and sour" league and fits incredibly well with its teenage image. The ivy comes through really well, at first I even find it a bit bitter; I would describe the scent color as green/pink. I don't smell orange and lily of the valley for my part, and the flowers are admittedly rather synthetic and stripped down in nature. You really have to have a slight affinity for plastic scents to get along with this. There isn't much going on in terms of scent development; the fragrance quickly reaches a slightly vanilla-creamy base and remains sour until the end. Still, it must be said that despite everything, it doesn't really smell cheap and has quite a bit of recognition value and individuality compared to its competitors, like Naomi Campbell classics or even Mexx waters. "Not for everybody" sums it up quite well; you either love or hate this scent. The longevity isn't spectacular, but at just under 13 euros, a higher dosage can be expected. I've worn it non-stop for the past few days and haven't had to hear any nasty comments. And overall, the little pink bottle has taught me: Even as a self-proclaimed perfume gourmet, one must come down from their high horse sometimes and appreciate the little treasures. Because aside from oneself, no one usually notices whether you're wearing a 150 euro niche fragrance or just a plain drugstore scent. I am certainly very happy to have it back in my collection.
