First enthusiastic then annoyed
The new Chloe caught my eye recently when I was out shopping - I really like the Chloe rose, I also wear Love Story from time to time, so I wanted to see how I liked this one.
The bottle is appealing, as is the red bow. The name is somewhat ambivalent (L'eau = water, i.e. fresh/light, Intense the opposite), but typical Flanker. You run out of names after the umpteenth new release at some point.
The fragrance itself initially appealed to me during a cursory test in the perfumery. It is only roughly related to its origin: the rose is already there, but it is sweeter and also more powdery. If I had tested it blind, I'm not sure I would have identified it as a Chloe. In any case, it smelled pleasant, feminine and suitable for everyday wear. I wanted to treat myself again and almost took it with me. In the end, I went ahead and happened to receive a free sample a few days later. I sprayed it once in the air at home and just wanted to confirm that it was a candidate for purchase. However, it then settled in the sprayed area in the room all day long (just Intense) and annoyed me more and more every time I passed by. So I took it off my shopping list and saved money.
But now I was curious about other reviews, because I noticed one thing: it had a note that reminded me of a dentist. It's not necessarily nasty, but the association is there. And that rang a bell: Baccarat Rouge is also always associated with this note. However, I had never really tested it, so I could never really relate to "smells like a dentist". Now I do. And from what I've read, some of you feel the same way.
Finally, once again about the new Chloe: it's okay, I enjoy flankers and always like to test the new releases. If others wore it, I would certainly find it comfortable too. On myself, however, it would give me a headache in the long run.
