Genre defining, elegant and approachable: one of the best designers of all times
There’s something timeless and classic about Terre d'Hermes that makes it one of my favorite formal/business fragrances - and it’s earned its place as one of my most worn in 2024.

Right from the first spritz, you’re greeted with its signature dry citrus opening, where bitter orange and grapefruit mingle beautifully with a touch of earthy spice. It’s like walking through an orange grove under a cloudless sky, with the crisp air carrying hints of mineral warmth. Formulating a dry citrus that is actually distinctive is not an easy accomplishment... and this feels like it.

As it settles, the fragrance evolves into a woody bonanza, with vetiver, cedar, and flint taking center stage.

Despite being an Eau de Toilette, its performance is above average. It lasts well into the day and projects just enough to leave an impression without overwhelming.

One of the things I love most is how airy this version feels compared to the Parfum. The Parfum may lean heavier and richer, but the EDT has an open, breezy quality that makes it more versatile and balanced.

Whether I’m suiting up for a business meeting or attending an event, Terre d’Hermes is a reliable finishing touch that ties everything together. The scent is elegant yet approachable, and as a true perfumery classic it is a worthy addition to any collection.

Genre defining, still talked about 20 years after its release... so it deserves a 10 out of 10 for its scent.

Minimalist vetiver, refined citrus
Terre d'Hermès is one of those high creations that no one would deny. Several times replicated by several houses from niche to designers. This fragrance has an illusion that intensifies by the title: Terre. In fact you don't have any hint of soil or dust and it is all emerged by grapefruit, geranium and vetiver. Neither, this is not a vetiver oriented composition. It's apparently geranium without camphorous effect. The same geranium in Chanel Platinum Égoïste.
Terre d'Hermes is a delightful rounded, highly wearable, casual/formal fragrance that gives you sense of trust. Fresh, foggy, sweet, zesty, manly and minimalistic. A crowd-pleasing woodsy citrus fragrance, an Éllena production.

Terre d'Hermes
Terre d'Hermes is a true revelation to me. Paradoxically, this wasn't love at first sniff. A few years back I was toying with the idea of buying it for my dad, so I tested it on paper. Although it came across as an interesting fragrance, citrusy in the initial stage and a tad bit sweet, in the drydown, I found its strong cedar note rather off-putting.

I've recently revisited Terre to give it a second chance - and I'm pleased I have. This stuff is nothing short of exceptional, especially when tested directly on the skin. I'm a sucker for well-blended citrus notes in my frags, and Terre features a particularly delightful (over)ripe orange and grapefruit combo, which, to my surprise, has a pretty decent lasting power. Then a pepper accord becomes more obvious, followed by the cedar, which dominates the fragrance, but which I've come to like.

All in all, Terre d'Hermes is a well-balanced, smooth, modern and surprisingly versatile scent for men. It's no powerhouse as I find its sillage moderate, yet its longevity impressive. My guess is its fan club includes predominantly 30+ folks or younger men intelligent beyond their years. Thank you, Mr Ellena!

Dry orange and woods
Terre d'Hermes is certainly a very interesting scent with many dimensions. I get a lot of woods, but also a lot of earthiness as well from smelling this.

In the opening, you could well say that the composition is rather harsh and strong. I was hit with a masculine take on sour citrus and pepper.

As it settled, Terre d'Hermes became much more likable. A deliciously spicy earthiness can be found with a somewhat resinous cedar scent taking centre stage. Patchouli isn't too strong in this fragrance, I find it to be only very subtle.

Once I reached the drydown I became slightly disappointed, because all that had made this fragrance different, had developed into a rather predictable, woodsy base. This fragrance lacked persistence and diversity for me.

Terre d'Hermes is very masculine, however a very daring woman could pull this off also. I read somewhere that someone described this fragrance as being 'outdoorsy', and I'll agree whole-heartedly with this statement. The scent makes me think of the outback, cowboys and dry deserts.

The lasting strength and sillage is very impressive for an EDT, and in some instances, while this fragrance didn't rock my boat, I do believe that most females will adore this fragrance on their man.

Terre d'Hermès
A successful fragrance that became one of the classics in the world of perfumery
Hermès offers us a fragrance that broke with all the schemes once it was launched, and to this day continues to set trends in the market.
This fragrance started in 2006 and is still going strong, it does not go out of style, it could be said that it became timeless.

In the opening the first thing we are going to feel is an explosion of grapefruit and orange, but a well-performed orange note, often in perfumes the orange note smells like household cleaner, but not here; the orange note has great quality, and do not feel synthetic at all, the coarse orange scent will accompany you throughout the whole life of the fragrance.
If you like the smell of orange in perfumes, look no further, because to me, this is the perfume that has the most real,
natural and winning orange note of all designer perfumes.

After the explosion of orange and grapefruit, notes of spices begin to join the equation, especially the note of black pepper which gives this fragrance a more masculine touch, later the notes of vetiver and cedar give the scent various shades and textures, but clearly the notes of orange and pepper are the vedette stars of this fragrance.

Terre d'Hermès is a formal, elegant and one of a kind perfume that helps you enhance your personality, is a fragrance for people who are looking for a different but affirmative perfume.
It is an all-terrain perfume, you can use it all year round, but mainly in autumn and spring.

On my skin it lasts about five hours, if I use it on clothes it projects a lot in the first hours
It is not a beast mode fragrance, it is rather discreet but it is so good that it can easily become your signature perfume.

The box is quite normal, but it follows the Hermes aesthetic with white and orange letters. The bottle is elegant and very heavy, I bought the Eau de Toilette in its 200 ml version, because I love it and I use it a lot, personally I prefer to use it during the day if I dress kind of elegant.
Terre d'Hermès cannot be missing in your men's perfumes collection.
