strangely salty, beachier than i'd like

Sweet lil coconutty treat, but it does have a touch of that lingering beachy synthetic smell that I was hoping wouldn't be there. The opening is really pleasant and sweet, made me excited that I was able to get my hands on the rerelease! Unfortunately, the longer I wear it, the more oddly salty and plasticky it gets.

Is it worth getting this re-release?

At first whiff, it smells like warm baked goods. Hubby said it made him want a bear claw. I said it smelled like a coconut macaroon (not a macaron). Then it smelled like coconut cake or birthday cake, the kind made from a standard boxed white cake mix. Might as well say it smelled like cake batter, which would have been fine if it stayed there.

I guess based on the bottle's description: "Unwind in paradise with notes of coconut cream, tropical orchid, and toasted praline," I expected something more summer by the pool vs. summer in Solvang (a town with tons of Danish bakeries). What does "praline" smell like, btw, sugar?

There is a pool-like note that emerges, unfortunately for me more plasticky, maybe also a hint of Play Doh (what many "vanilla" scents smell like on me). It's kind of fun I guess, but not as "me" as a few of the other cheirosa fragrances. I'm glad hubby said he likes it, but it isn't love, and it didn't transport him to memory lane like a couple of the others did, or cause him to snuffle up to my neck.

Coconut overdose

At first it’s so refreshing and watery and then you get a hint of toasted coconut flakes mixed with other nutty stuff. It’s definitely a sweet scent but it doesn’t FEEL that sweet compared to other feminine coconut scents that are popular right now. Has such a relaxing, warm, cozy dry down and lasts a long time for a body mist. I put it on before bed and I could still smell it in the morning, however I wore it on a walk in 30 degree heat and it disappeared immediately so

I really like this one. It is a warm, gourmand, sweet coconut scent. It's weird because it is so gourmand and ooey gooey sweet that it might not be suitable to wear on a hot summer day. So it kind of erases the point of this fragrance? It's nice is you're inside with air conditioning. I'm glad I got the mini gift set before it was discontinued, but I don't think I'd buy it again through a reseller or something.

My coconut of trust

It's been a while now since I grabbed this bottle at retail because my first intuition before the large selection of Sol de Janeiro was: I can't go wrong with coconut.
This fragrance is a must for coconut lovers. Toasted, sweetened shredded coconut that melts in your mouth (or nose). No clean coconut. Not floral coconut. Not fruity coconut. Just sweet, gourmet coconut. So delicious that you want to eat it all.
And yes: those who don't like sweet will run. But the longer it develops on the skin, the more it clings to it and the softer it becomes. I like to spray it on in the evening as a dessert substitute, less so during the day because I don't necessarily want to walk around smelling edible.

For a body spray, the H/S is really very good. It's also better than most other SDJ sprays, which I would give a 5 or 6 in this category.
Grab a copy if you can still find one ;)

Okay yeah… this is amazing. A mix of 62 and coconut. No sunscreen. Salty coconut nostalgia.Smells EXACTLY like the white coconut tea we had @ tea room
