Apples and chestnuts
Take Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette and Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely, smashed them together, rebottle with a cool sort of a wine corkscrew as a cap, and sell it for an affordable price.
This is basically what we have here. Yes its less dynamic, more "cheap" selling in the opening, and a bit generic. But it works really well.
Jacques Huclier created a really nice woody amber scent with some nutty-fruity elements. Strong cedar smell, some amberwoods, a chestnut accord, and an Apple pie that turns this an appealing offering but yet, a generic one too.
No need to be afraid. Huclier is know for his brilliant A*Men line and the less interesting but popular Gucci Guilty line. In here, he picked the mass appealing note du jour (Chestnut) and the classic BB "apple-pie" accord, and mixed them with a high dose of dry woods and akigalawood to make it more modern.
In the end, a very pleasing and satisfactory experience. When this came out, Stronger with You was already popular and i thought that this was not worth it, but now, after all the fuzz, i returned to it and found a good composition overall.
And the price and performance are really good too! For less than 30€ for the 50ml bottle and with a nice 6-8h of longevity. A true gem that flows under the radar mainly because its a Tommy Hilfiger. Who cares about them, right?
Dont expect a masterpiece but a sexy masculine scent that can be worn all year, even in summer nights for drinks.
