A lovely spring fresh lilac
Love at First Sight from Une nuit nomade is a nice, fresh floral with a heavy dose of lilac. It evokes the late spring lilac, a walk through the park just after the rain, when the sun shines again. You are young, it's spring and you are in love, what could go wrong? It's a very nice refreshing floral, perfect for spring or one of those early summer days where the breeze is nice and the sun not too harsh.

The lilac is the centrepiece through the life cycle of this scent. From the opening on my skin to the dry down (that unfortunately comes rather fast for my taste), the lilac notes really grab the attention. This is slightly old fashion, almost on the verge of "old lady" smell because of the ever-present lilac (be aware that my bias in this opinion might come from the fact that my grandmother loved lilac). I say on the verge, because in my opinion (or on my skin), the ambroxan and the passion fruit keeps it from falling in that category by giving it a fresh and almost ozonic edge. The opening is that fresh mix of lilac and passion fruit, mostly floral with a little sprinkle of fruitiness. The acacia note is almost undetectable, and it is a very linear fragrance, giving me almost only lilac on the dry down.

It resolutely leans feminine, but I can still picture a man who's comfortable in its skin wearing this. Mostly a day time fragrance, but not a bad choice for a spring or summer evening. The longevity is average (4 hours at best on my skin) and the sillage/projection is acceptable (arm’s length, maybe a bit farther).

My first blind buy, since I usually buy samples first, but there was no smaller samples available for this one, so I bought the 30 ml. Since I was really eager to smell those passion fruit notes, and liked most of Une nuit nomade offerings until then, I just took the risk, despite lilac not being a note I am particularly fond of. In the end, I do not regret, got a lot of wear from it.

a whiff of spring (and soap)
Undeniably fits the brief (again), yet I have an hard time evaluating it considering my aversion for soapy florals.
Despite not being able to identify the culprit among the notes listed, this soapiness was all I was able to sniff on me, for a long enough time to put me off.
It luckily settles as a creamier, raw floral after a while; then, it feels exactly like taking a walk in the suburbs in early spring, after the rain, when all the blossomed bushes nearby unleash their fragrance. That being said, I only wish it was as animalic and indolic on my skin as others say they experienced it to be.

Love at First Sight - Vibes
You pluck a single leaf off the lilac bush, rubbing it roughly between your fingers. You didn't bring shears so you twist and tear at the stems until you have a large bushel of flowers in your hands. Not bothering to change the water, you replace the decaying bouquet in the vase with the delicate buds. Your hands are green and tacky from the stems but you don't wash them.

Pleasant non-risky girly scent
Fresh, floral, bright scent. Ever so slightly tart, like rhubarb (After reading the notes, I guess that comes from the passionfruit). Sadly the tartness turns sour and bitter/metallic on my skin. The scent is gorgeous on hot and humid days. It's a proper, non offensive, optimistic and joyful fragrance. Maybe a bit too naive?

The scent anchor of my birth
Every year on my birthday, my mother tells me the same story. Every year for as long as I can remember. A few decades have passed, but the story is still told.
Now you could read it too.
In the country where I was born, childbirth was a woman-only affair, the woman, the child and a midwife, if all went well. Men were not allowed in the birthing centers and certainly not allowed to be present at the birth.
Holding the woman's hand, breathing with her and then cutting the umbilical cord - that was unthinkable back then.
The birth of a child was a woman's business. That's it! The fathers were shown the newborn through a window. Good if the window was on the first floor. That's how it was in Soviet times.
Due to the very cold winters in the southern Urals, the lilacs didn't bloom until early June.

I still don't know how my father did it. He doesn't remember either. One thing is clear, if you want to, you can find ways. As my mother loves lilacs so much, a nurse brought a huge bunch of freshly cut lilacs into my mother's room. My mother still raves about how the whole room was filled with the fresh scent of lilacs and how happy she was. That's how a fragrance becomes a scent anchor.

Now to the fragrance. I found the sample of Love at First Sight by Une Nuit Nomade in the Pafory calendar. I already knew the brand, but not the fragrance. Passion fruit, lilac, ambroxan - that sounds exciting.
Spray on the back of your hand and you're standing in the middle of a park on a sunny, warm spring day with lilacs blooming around you as far as the eye can see. A very authentic, fresh lilac, somewhat overwhelming by my personal standards, but nevertheless beautiful. High quality and harmonious.

I will be giving this perfume to my dear mom for Mother's Day at the latest. That's already been decided. And in June, like every year, sipping a glass of Prosecco, I will HAVE to listen to the story of my birth once again with gratitude..

Mom - you are the best!

Hoped that this one feels just like spring. Light and hopeful, but this is a bit too screechy and synthetic.

Passion fruit and lilac make an interesting mix. Extremely girly and summery. Linear and better suited for someone flirtier than me.

Couldn't smell this for very long (maybe the ambroxan?) but what i could smell at the start was a dew covered lilac, including the stem.

A lilac-dominant floral scent with minimal evolution. Pleasant but lacks innovation. Suitable for casual floral lovers.
