Hello everyone,
today we're talking about the
A*Men Pure Malt - Création 2013 and I’d like to share a couple of thoughts!
Here is the link to my review of the regular Pure Malt https://www.parfumo.de/Parfums/mugler/AMen_Pure_Malt/rezensionen/265850. And you can quickly see that even today, as a niche fan, I find it "very good" and even think it’s almost too good for a designer. It has great performance at a niche level, has edges and character (even though it still comes across as pleasant) and it has something mysterious + mystical about it, like an aura that surrounds you. I know all of the Pure line from Mugler and the
A*Men Pure Malt is the best - in my opinion.
Over the years 2011 - 2021, I had 3 bottles which I emptied, and since I always had a few (!) fragrances during those years, you can quickly tell - yes, Benny apparently found it very good.
I’ve known the
A*Men Pure Malt - Création 2013 since back then, and it was already expensive when it was still available for purchase + it was hard to get. But today, I happened to come across one and I slightly regret not having had one back then....
Why?
It feels fuller, richer, stronger, and more concentrated, and the sillage in the first hour is ... let’s call it "insane" in a positive sense. As I said, it’s as intense in the first hour as that of
Interlude 53 or "Oud Satin Mood (Extrait de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian," and those who know both know very well what kind of monsters they are...
It also feels more high-quality, and the focus on fewer ingredients... - sounds strange, but we have the whisky, wood, patchouli, and amber, each noticeable, and that’s great, and it has this noticeable "COOLNESS" that the regular
A*Men Pure Malt has, only much stronger, and I LOVE THAT.
How does it come across:
Back then and today, really top-notch. It somehow never becomes uncool, annoying, or bothersome - a true fragrance that remains appealing over the years! And the women’s reaction to this version feels even stronger than to the regular one. I can’t say exactly why that is, but it somehow feels more mature, established, mysterious...
Regarding longevity:
It lasts as well as the regular one, and I won’t mention differences of 30 minutes here ;) ,
with over 9 hours and sometimes significantly more, it fits either way.
To the questions in the title... :
Need it... , definitely not, BUT let’s put it this way, if you know and like the
A*Men Pure Malt like I do and want to know what’s possible, then yes!
Better than the regular..., somehow you have to say yes!
Worth the extra cost .... , that’s really tough to say. Nowadays, used
A*Men Pure Malt (depending on the fill level) costs around €100 (almost 1:1), if you find one in a similar price range, then go for it. It’s worth the experience!
(My opinion)
If I really weren’t convinced, I wouldn’t recommend it to you!
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
