A weak floral cologne water, as the name suggests

I bought two 4711 colognes without reading the reviews. They are both fine value for what they are; inexpensive colognes with very short longevity. You have to spritz yourselves three times a day to maintain a consistent skin scent. The fragrance is very nice, a very smooth rose with a few other notes thrown in.

It opens with a pleasant citrus accord. The green tea is not very discernible in the opening. The floral heart notes are wha defines the personality of this perfume. The base notes and dry down are almost non-existent. I cannot smell any woody notes at all in the end. Overall, this is just a subdued, at-home cologne.

In summary, this cologne is fine if you are hanging around at home and you can spray yourselves every 3-4 hours. It is a serviceable cologne for $13, if you are not expecting too much. But it is not recommended if you want to spray once before going to work, and you hope that the fragrance lasts for 6-8 hours. I have fifty other fragrances that I have to use up, so I never reach for this one.

A stronger and more interesting alternative is Xerjoff Mefisto, which has a similar olfactory pyramid.

It would be my favorite scent if

This fragrance has the potential to become my favorite scent if it didn't fade away so quickly. The opening is very pleasant and not at all 4711-like. Only a slight hint of bergamot reminds me of the classic great-grandmother. Rounded off perfectly with green tea and mandarin. I really can't handle the great-grandmother scent at all. Soon, a floral mix of rose, freesia, and violet comes into play. None of the three scents dominates, and with the citrusy opening, it is very, very beautiful. The dry down with sandalwood and musk is soft and velvety beautiful. Sniffing again... still nice, but after that, only a hint of it remains on my skin. The new scents from Uncle Yves are much more long-lasting. It's a shame because if this subtle, fresh rosy scent were a bit stronger and lasted longer, it would have become my favorite scent. But reapplying every five minutes is just not feasible. The bottle is a classic with different colors, so you know which house the fragrance comes from. Otherwise, it bears no resemblance to the 4711 family.

"Little Cologne"?

I throw this question into the room because such fragrances are often underrated. But this "4711" certainly does not deserve that. For me, in terms of pure scent, it is a real "big one"!
It has everything that a truly fresh whirlwind needs for spring, summer, and warm autumn days.
A warm-spicy-fruity opening, fresh, warm, and powdery flowers, and a good portion of woods and a bit of musk.
"Surely it won't last too long!" many might think. But what my nose whispers to me is something quite different. It has now been a good 2 hours since I sprayed a good splash on my neck area. The scent has not faded yet. It is clearly and distinctly recognizable by me! Probably not a sillage monster, but much better than rated above. At least "6" is my verdict.
A beautiful triad of pleasant scents that truly reminds one of gentle breezes and gardens after the rain. Well balanced, composed of 50% warmth and 50% freshness! Also great for feeling good after bathing/showering. Easily combinable with homemade fragrance cream:
5ml of the cologne in 50ml of fragrance-free body lotion. Lasts twice as long = double fragrance enjoyment!

A Rose Garden by the Rhine

4711 is known for its "grandma scent" or its traditional little waters. And once you have smelled it, it stays in your memory. However, there are numerous variations of this fragrance and original creations from the house of Echt Kölnisch Wasser. One of them is the Floral Collection Rose.
It truly smells like a rose garden by the Rhine. Aquatic, fresh, floral with a proper powerful rose. The longevity could be a bit better as well as the sillage.
I think it works quite well for the office or a quick shopping trip. It also has a fresh laundry character, and you can even use it as a room fragrance.

The Echt Kölnisch Wasser Floral Collection Rose has impressed me greatly. A gender-neutral scent, fresh with a delicate floral fragrance, without being too "feminine." The perfume has a long-lasting effect, lasting longer than the original Kölnisch Wasser. It is particularly suitable for everyday use, whether for the gym or at work.
