Top 3 Aaron Terence Hughes! Summery citrusy powdery scent.
It is my duty to post ATH reviews at this point. I have always come to Parfumo to look up the notes and reviews to ATH bottles before I had any. Now my collection of his bottles has reached 20 and counting. It's time I impart some knowledge.

Neon has got to be in my top 3 ATH fragrances, hands down. Upon spraying, you are hit with a citrusy powdery scent that is strong and great for summer days. If you know Legend, it's close to it, but better. Legend is way too powdery. Take Legend, tone down the powder, add some citrus, and you get Neon. It is a scent that is worthy of compliments. This is what I want to smell like when a member of the opposite sex walks past me and catches my scent trail. This is fresh and clean. This is a powerhouse. And you'll be noticed like a neon sign which is where I'd assume the name comes from. It's bright. It's colorful. And it's a sign welcoming anyone near to come close. I love this one and I came here specifically to review this one first.

Aaron Terence Hughes goes commercial
Aaron Terence Hughes openly refers to his Adonis Collection as commercial. While he usually creates more niche fragrances, he has crafted some men's perfumes that are meant to be easy to wear and contain fewer natural ingredients. Alpha Man is a total flop for me and more of an Alpha Kevin, but I would at least rate Neon as solid.

When it comes to the fragrance notes, most people probably think of Aventus and Sauvage first, but I see another scent as significantly more similar, and that is Tygar from Bvlgari's Le Gemme line. Only three notes are listed for this one: grapefruit, ambrox, and woods - and I perceive these same three as the essential elements that define Neon. I cannot filter out pineapple at all, and the zesty, sour grapefruit seems to be the most dominant of the citrus notes. However, Neon does not have a particularly refreshing effect - not even in the top note. The reason for this is the extremely dry, woody orientation that is evident from the very beginning. Ambroxan is often associated with typical shower gel scents, but in its pure form, it has those dry-woody and slightly amber-warm qualities, which are well presented here and further enhanced. I also think I can perceive a fragrance component that often contributes to that pencil note, but here it only subtly resonates and reminds me of cedar. I definitely would not have guessed sandalwood in a blind test.

Neon does not deserve a better rating because it is overall too one-dimensional for me. I have nothing against linear fragrances if they are well made, but this one lacks something in contrast to the woodiness. The projection should not be underestimated. Even after several hours, I can still perceive Neon well around me, which must be a nightmare for any Ambroxan opponent. However, those who enjoy this genre and especially those looking for a cheaper alternative to Tygar might find happiness with this one.

A ambroxan bomb....reminds me of slut without the neroli/orange note...guess it's the same musk...love it though great for summer

This is ATH’s take on the runaway success of the “blue fragrance”. It’s more or less Sauvage minus the loud metallic harshness.

The grapefruit reminds me of L'Immensite by L. V.
This one is more crowd-pleasing - I actually like it a bit better.

Goes in the direction of Tygar and co., just more synthetic, initially sharp and even more Ambroxan. Somehow really good! Longevity is top.

Citrusy Ambrox bomb, incredibly fresh and long-lasting. In the end, a very soft and gentle musk bed. Seems like a signature from ATH.

Initial grapefruit, then noticeably Ambroxan + a bit of wood. Synthetic-fresh describes it better. You have to like it, I don’t. H&S good.

Attention: Ambroxan bomb!!!
Otherwise, there's pleasant citrus and some woods. If you like Ambroxan: here you go!

A classically fresh shower gel scent. The Ambroxan strongly reminds me of Dior Sauvage. The DNA is less similar. A bit more citrusy. Still good.

Sour Ambroxan. Smells just like a green neon light. Sour and bright. Ambroxan and lime with a hefty dose of nasal spray.

Ambrox bomb? Yes! Toilet block association? Yes! Am I slowly warming up to it? Yes! I don't like Sauvage & Co, but this scent has a lot to offer. It shines!
