One of the best things I've ever smelled
Beautiful dark and sexy combination of spicy, sweet, tobacco and oud notes with some contrast coming from the neroli. Was considering buying either PDM Herod or Haltane next but don't need either as this has the best elements of both but more smoothly blended and with beast mode performance. Masterpiece!

Unexpected
Pleasing rubbery vanilla with a velvety boozy nuance. The profile is tasteful. Not a strong scent and its very pleasing and wearable. Quite unique and niche, elegant, the opening is very tame, followed by steady but gentle projection. The sweetness lifts a bit in the drydown, but it is not openly sweet.

Loving this collection
This is absolutely awesome. This and Requiem are both fantastic. Requiem goes in a darker direction with the myrrh giving it a resinous, smoky layer. Requiem is more evening and Noir could be worn day or night.
Both are very carnal and feel “lived in” - this comes from the civet. I’ve seen people commenting that they can’t smell the civet, which is the point. The civet is there to change how the other elements behave. Take it away and I bet the balance would be thrown completely out of whack.

Performance is great and getting better with a bit of time in the bottle.

If this perfume was a colour, to me it would be burnt orange.

Bravo Aaron!

Not bad, not great
I was excited to try Noir as I was interested to see how the neroli would contrast with the heavier, darker notes as well as the fact I'm a huge fan of Tabac Extreme, so I thought I'd also love this being a tobacco scent. Now that I have my bottle I'm not really too impressed. It's nice for sure, but this isn't as good as many of Aaron's other fragrances.

Noir opens up with ambery, spicy and vanillic tobacco and neroli notes. The contrast is nice and it works much better than I expected it to. The tobacco note here does remind me of Tabac Extreme but it's much softer here in Noir. Once it starts to dry down I no longer find the scent that interesting. To my nose this becomes a very light, almost ice creamy but ever so slightly spicy vanilla scent and nothing more, no more neroli, no more tobacco, not that ambery either. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't smell bad, far from it, it's just that it becomes a bit too boring in my opinion. Needless to say I find the name of the fragrance very inaccurate, this scent to me is the furthest thing from "Noir" I can think of. I also bought a bottle of Requiem and I find that to fit way better into the "Noir" name, at least off my first impressions of that fragrance.

Performance is excellent, as expected from Aaron's work. Strong projection for several hours, dense sillage enveloping you for hours as well, extremely effortless 8+ hours longevity on skin but, given how much ambroxan Aaron uses in his fragrances, you'll go nose blind to this quickly so it might seem this isn't as strong as it is. About five hours into my wear I got in the car with my mom and she immediately said that she did like it a lot and that it was still coming off me strongly. Aaron's fragrances never disappoint in terms of performance.

Expected Something Different
I can't lie from the listed notes I was expecting something darker and a little animalic and this really isn't that. It's very smooth and slightly spicy and I will say it's very well blended. No particular note jumps out at me and I didn't get a lot of neroli on the opening. That being said though I still think this is a very nice scent and quite versatile. I was just expecting something different and a little more niche.

Scent - 8.5/10
Longevity - 8/10
Sillage - 8/10
Projection 8/10
Value for money 8.5/10

Overall 8/10

Reminds me of the in-house Oud Noir, but without the lovely plum, and SideEffect. Pleasantly sweet-spicy crackling winter scent, without a wow factor.

Uninspired commercial "Noir", very sweet-spicy and pleasing. Not bad, but indifferent, without standing out from the familiar.
