Good Job Mother
"Maleeh Al Aoud"... What a beautiful name I thought to myself..... And I was not to be disappointed! As a newcomer in this field, I ordered a small sample of this wonder substance and wanted to know.... "Is this what you always find so beautiful in various fragrances?" Is Oud or Aoud the salt in the soup of so many soups on the perfume market? So said... done... I took the small sample in hand and applied a tiny drop on the back of my hand. I cleared my senses and smelled my hand.... Hmmm.... "It's not that great!" was my first thought, and a little disappointment crept in. I thought to myself.... "Come on Stefan!... Did you sniff too much paint today or why are your expectations not being met?".... Full of determination, I borrowed my second hand and rubbed the back of my hands together to give the little oil drop some air and warmth, and what unfolded was.... DIVINE!
This is how a tear from Mother Nature must smell! Wonderfully soft, round, and warm, this symphony opens its score in the key of "Rose".
I don't know where it comes from, but I have scent notes of roses. Not the fresh scent of modern tea hybrids, but heavy, powdery, and full of melt as Rosa Damascena, better known as the Damask rose, can provide. I love this scent! Enchanting!.... sensual!... erotic!... seductive!... captivating!... All these words describe Maleeh Al Aoud very well. After the rose, the duet partner Oud cautiously joins me. It's like a passionate dance of scent nuances. In perfect harmony, this ensemble plays on the keyboard of its olfactory possibilities. Nothing is exaggerated, nothing stands out, nothing "disturbs" in this symphony.
From beginning to end, this oil exudes an impression of perfection. Consistently beautiful, consistently balanced, unobtrusive but intense enough. Those who enjoy high-quality, heavy, warm, and oily rose/Oud will feel right at home here. In my opinion, a beautiful winter fragrance that must not be missing from my collection. I call myself.... "proud owner" of Mother Nature's tears.
Longevity and sillage are great. I rub a drop on my wrist, then glide from top to bottom over my clothing and smell pleasant and unobtrusive all day long.
The bottle is beautifully crafted and full of detail. A gem in my collection.
Many thanks to Mother Nature, the perfumer, and thank you all for reading.
Best regards, Stefan.
