Soon no more coward?

There is one thing in particular that I miss at the moment. The sea. At least once a year we went to the sea. Mostly to the south. Even as a child with my parents I was allowed to spend some holidays in the sunny south. And I just notice that now that is missing.

Dear Bastian, although I am definitely not a fig lover, sent me a small sample of his Fico di Amalfi. Without great expectations, I tested this fig fragrance and was thrilled. It catapulted me straight to the sea. This is how summer vacations smell, whether as a child or later in adulthood. This scent is so delightfully fresh with its bergamot, lemon and grapefruit, and with its juicy green fig, it's almost as delicious as dessert at an Italian sidewalk café. Want a teensy bit of vacation from the constant rain? Here you go! The fig is accompanied by an enchanting, light and clean jasmine note. A little creamy and soapy now, you could almost think of suntan lotion. Yes, it puts you in a good mood. And brings the beach home for a short moment. After a few hours, the fragrance fades away woody. Throughout the course, it always remains wonderfully natural.

For me, the most beautiful fig, which I was allowed to sniff so far. And this could even top my previous favorite, Figuier Eden by Armani Privé. Against Philosykos, which was always too soapy for me, and the green-dominated Ichnusa by Profumum Roma, this delicate fig from Parma wins in any case. I still don't have to own a fig scent, but I don't rule out the possibility of discarding my cowardice towards figs.

Fico and Benzoe on Vacation !

Niche or rather not...this question I often ask myself with ADP fragrances. The representatives of the Blu Mediterraneo Collection are rather loose, casual companions for warm or active days. H/S a la Cologne. So rather more mainstream but still always a super blend of ingredients.

Then fragrances from the Singnatures of the Sun line such as the OUD. Great new interpretation between citrus elements and a dark oud. Very successful and special. Mega bottle, best spray head ever at the big bottles.

Like most blue of AQP no top performance but for me by far the best summer fig fragrance. Fresh, figgy-sweet and different!
This fragrance after a round swim in the sea...simply a dream.
How often I have here when picking up cocktails at the beach bar
Compliments received or a " what is smelling so nice " perceived. The fragrance is simply fun in the summer and is quite different from, for example, a bergamotto di calabria or a mandarino di Sicilia.

The play of benzoin and figs is very unique and results in deep and nectar-like fragrance, which however does not seem synthetic or boozy at all.

Woody notes are very subtle in the background of this Blauling, which makes the fragrance very versatile. Smells something as if the trunk or the leaves of the fig tree would also make their contribution to the accord.

Who expects here an AQP in the direction of Cologne should better reach for the other blue brothers, who has a desire for a fruity, fresh fig dream in the summer - a must have and in my nose a very nischiger summer fragrance but very versatile usable.

The legendary "apple of temptation" is supposed to have been a fig.
This doesn't sound so absurd, considering the strong aphrodisiac effect attributed to this fruit.
And we weren't all there; so we can make our own thoughts about it.

"Blu Mediterraneo Fico di Almalfi" appeals to all the senses and invites you to a summery stay on this wonderful stretch of Mediterranean coast.
Not only the fleshy and therefore very juicy and aromatic Italian lemon (we already enjoyed it elsewhere), also bergamot and grapefruit offer a shady and scented place under dark green lacquered leaves.
Its play of light and shadow, the sun and a light sea breeze make this pleasure even greater.
Fig nectar, sweet and creamy, flowing from the spoon, contains a very special charm through cleverly dosed pink pepper: this ignites small sensual flames which lead to a special pleasure.
Aphrodite joined us at this moment and plays one of her magical games.
The love goddess also hands over a basket lavishly filled with large white jasmine blossoms, whose golden faces dab additional light effects into this scent painting.
Since everything can be used from the fig tree (from the wood to the leaf to the fruit), this wood, together with the always welcome cedar, leads here to the south-scented finale.
(The wooden panels used as "canvas" for the paintings of the 13th to 15th centuries are said to have been made of fig wood. This should be particularly fine wood.)
But all this citric freshness and the heavy sweetness of the heart note need an additional, spicy antipole: the smoky resin note of benzoin is particularly suitable here.
Thus this fragrance picture closes to an impressive whole, which - Helena1411 writes here completely in my sense - simply joy makes!
And joy, together with southern sunny ambience, is exactly what is simply welcome and right on many days!

After my last disappointment with this brand, I approached "Fico di Amalfi" a little cautiously; the tempting name alone made me finally want to test this fragrance.
At the moment my longing for "Bella Italia" is very big and so I have to search this pleasure through my senses and travel in my mind.
Blu Mediterraneo Fico di Amalfi" is certainly an enrichment for all friends of this fragrance. This fig is simply beautiful and full of southern charm.

But my bottling is allowed to go on, because (and now I will surely meet with opposition) for me Ferrari's "Noble Fig" is still like a second skin and seems to stay that way.
And yet it was a great pleasure to get to know this fragrant intermezzo.
"Fico di Amalfi" makes it easy for me to finally test the other bottlings of this brand without any reservations.
I'm curious to see what else I'll discover.

Cowardly? Fig!

Fig in the scent? No, don't bother. Fig is tart and fruity and it stings me. I've been told this fig here doesn't come out like that at all. Not true, at least not on me.

However, this here is the very first fig scent that I think is great.

Is it because fig "nectar" was processed here? Quite possibly, because for me, the "Fico di Amalfi" is fruity, fresh with a delicate honey sweetness, and I like it downright. I don't notice the top notes at all. For me, this fig nectar immediately exudes, caresses me and makes me smile. It's also quite present, for about half an hour I have this fruity fresh fig summer feeling around me constantly. Then the fruit totally retreats and makes way for a jasmine that I have to really search for compared to the opening, and whose pink pepper addition doesn't really resonate with me. FdA then slowly switches to woody notes that are gently spicy. The resinous-vanilla note of benzoin caresses the wood.

Verdict: I find this drop in fragrance from radiant nectar to the body-toned scents to be quite stark. This is also the reason why FdA gets "only" 7.5 points from me. Nevertheless, I do not want to exclude that "Blu Mediterraneo - Fico di Aamalfi" next year joins my summer fragrances.

Say, what was the name of that perfume in the blue bottle?

When I was sitting at the table with my uncle at my father's birthday party about 3 or 4 years ago, it suddenly came back to me....

"Say, you brought me some perfume a while back for a test drive. It was a long time ago, but it was a narrow blue bottle with a little residue in it."

(Forgive the expression "bottle" at this point)

"Hmm, you must mean Acqua di Parma. Otherwise, I don't really have a blue home."
"Unfortunately I can't remember the name, but I had to think about it again recently and would like to buy the perfume"

"I'll bring you what I have from them tomorrow."
Then I got Cipresso di Toscana and Bergamotto di Calabria.
Immediately there was one sprayer each on the left and right arm.
With Cipresso di Toscana I was immediately sure that it could not have been him. But I didn't think it was bad either.
But Bergamotto di Calabria? I really like it! However, the memory of the other fragrance was already quite faded.

So then I'd better order the sample set of the Blu Mediterraneo line.
I knew by now that it must have been a scent of AdP. I could remember the blue 30ml bottle immediately.

And in the fragrance set it was then also included....the "prodigal son".

Fico di Amalfi!

Fruity, citric and especially FRESH !
The bittersweet grapefruit was what I remember most. Immediately present at the beginning, it makes room for the fig after a short time. Woody notes form the conclusion.
A great package for the summer and my personal favourite from Acqua di Parma.
Shelf life:
Well, it's a light summer scent. Not outstanding, but there are definitely worse things (also in the blue row of AdP).

I really like it at first. But it wears off quickly.

This is how I became aware of Acqua di Parma.
A brand that has accompanied me through every summer since then and I would not want to miss it anymore.
