Perfect for the summer

Mirto di Panarea by Acqua di Parma really inspired me. The fragrance is incredibly fresh, lively and elegant at the same time - you immediately feel like you're on a sunny day on the Italian coast. This Mediterranean lightness, combined with the fine herbal and citrus notes, makes it something very special.
What I particularly like is how well the fragrance develops on the skin and how long it lasts. It is present, but never too overpowering - just right for everyday wear, but also for special occasions.

Zeus and the bitter scent of the gods

I have always been fond of AdP. Oud Eau de Parfum is one of my favorite bottles in the collection,
Over the years, I have also repeatedly tested fresher fragrances from AdP. One or the other went into the collection, was exchanged or replaced over the years.
I am writing a review of Mirto di Panarea La Riserva because I like this release very much and the brand is addressing the main criticisms of many.

In contrast to other new releases from the brand, the fragrance is not a citrusy summer scent like other usual suspects in a blue bottle. It is a cooler, nobler representative of its genre with surprisingly good longevity, which is certainly one of the most negative points for many Acqua di Parma fragrances.
After a minimally citrusy start, the sage clearly takes over as the fragrance progresses. For me, it is the main component of the fragrance. It is very present but never overpowering. The other notes skilfully complement it without being overpowering. Juniper complements the fragrance in a beautifully restrained way. Mirto di Panarea La Riserva remains relatively linear as the fragrance progresses and is still perceptible on the evening of a summer's day.

Recommended for whom? I would recommend the fragrance to those perfumers who prefer a cooler and smoother scent in summer. Effervescence and citrus are all the rage, but are not the main focus here. I tend to see the fragrance as more masculine, but everyone should answer this question for themselves anyway.

The right picture? Zeus above a thundercloud in the sultry midsummer of Greece, surely reaching for this beautiful bottle more often.
