Once upon a time, Sonia Constant gave birth to Ombre Leather. From the moment she was born, Ombre was rugged, determined and a bit of a square. Two years later, Ombre had a makeover and was transformed by her mother into a curvy, highly refined, highly painted product - sleek, black and stamped with corporate approval - the very embodiment of modern urbanity.
One day, Ombre woke up and did what she always did - jumped into the shower, towelled off and prepared to get herself ready. Only this day was different. For some reason, Ombre just didn't feel like putting on makeup. It wasn't a particularly busy day, nor did she feel like sticking it to the man. It was just...a decision, made without worry, without malice, simply born of a carefree attitude. And after getting dressed, brushing her hair and adorning her body with choice accessories, Ombre stood in front of the mirror to examine her appearance.
Of course, she was still herself, in fact perhaps more so without the lavishly coloured chemicals that smoothed away the lines and percieved imperfections gracing her rugged visage. She had the same long black-to-brown graded hair, the same slender waist and even her ears were in the same place. The only difference was that she was finally seeing her face as it was and not what others expected it to be.
And so it is, that as Ombre stared at her reflection in the mirror, she knew, that even without the extravagantly expensive mask, she was just as flirty, just as coriaceous, just as fruity and sweet as her refined counterpart that others have come to know and love. The confidence? Well, that will come with time. After all, few people would be able to tell the difference at a distance anyway. "Think of the money I'll save" she said with a chuckle. And with a wink and a turn, she was out the door, to grace the world forever more, with her smile, with her dance, with her lustful romance, she was still the same girl - the same girl at a glance. And she lived happily, ever, after.
