Marj by Ahmed Al Maghribi an intense fragrance for oud lovers
arj is an intense fragrance that particularly appeals to oud fans. The top note starts spicy and fresh with bergamot pink pepper and tangerine, along with a fine pinch of nutmeg and sweet honey. The oud is clearly perceptible but not too dominant and well integrated.

In the heart, floral notes of rose jasmine and orange blossom unfold, accompanied by the warm spice of cinnamon and saffron, which give the fragrance an oriental depth.

The base combines musk amber leather and sandalwood with a subtle fruity raspberry note. This makes the fragrance long-lasting and gives it an elegant and slightly sensual finish.

Marj is a very good choice for anyone who likes oud and appreciates complex fragrances. It combines oriental warmth with fresh and floral accents while remaining elegant and pleasant to wear.

A special thanks to Buri from Parfumerie Gouttiere through whom I tested the fragrance. There you get very personal and competent advice that is worth every visit.

The oriental powerhouse...
Hello everyone,

before I go into certain things about the scent - I would like to get rid of 1 or 2 other things.

I am someone who has arrived in the extremely high-priced league, but I never forget my roots and where I come from.

Means?

I don't just write those reviews of expensive fragrances, I also like to write ones like this from time to time. I also used to only have fragrances in the price range (up to 60€), as there was hardly any more for me in the past (training money etc.)
The OVP/tube is very reminiscent of LV in terms of structure - but there is still a velvet layer here = beautiful. You can like the bottle and the shape or not, both are perfectly ok..., my first thought was "ok, something different" .

The bottle and the lid are really good for the price range and have an almost high-quality finish = a very decent impression!
Finally, I would like to mention openly and honestly that I do NOT (!) like the fragrance or the brand, so in my opinion there is no better way to be unbiased.
_______________

About the fragrance:

It's always a bit ungrateful to write oriental... Because what is oriental? In my world, it's a mix of spices that don't grow in the western world, such as saffron and nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. and this woody oud base with (clean) musk, a dash of leather and the HONEY create a very successful composition.

But why only a 7.5?

This is not so easy for me to say...., on the one hand the fragrance is very synthetic = which is completely understandable given the low price. I also know what is possible in terms of quality. Even if the fragrances play in a completely different LIGA, that's clear to me! But these kinds of fragrances are no longer mine, although they used to be!

But the biggest plus point apart from the price (I'll get to that in a moment) is its performance. Because it's abnormal, abnormal and AWESOME (positive). Honestly (!), if we ignore DUPES, then Marj Eau de Parfum is probably the strongest fragrance you can buy for 65€.

POINT.

If an "inexpensive" fragrance lingers on my skin for 20 hours, then this is worthy of all honors!
Let's move on to the price:

I have already more or less hinted at it indirectly. The Marj Eau de Parfum is one of the best fragrances (!) in the range up to 65€ (excluding dupes).

However, its power also has 1, 2 disadvantages:

It can go to your head and cause headaches. Due to its POWER, it should be dosed discreetly = your environment will thank you for it!
Can I recommend it?

Test it absolutely!
Buy if you like it!

Buy blind?

You like oriental - sweet and heavy fragrances then yes, the loss in value is absolutely manageable.

UNISEX?

It is absolutely UNISEX wearable!

And now have a nice day/evening or whatever you are reading this review, LG the Benny

A fragrance for oud fans
Admittedly, it is not easy for me to write a review about this fragrance because it is so multifaceted and goes through many phases. It is therefore difficult to describe it, but I would like to try because I find Marj Eau de Parfum beautiful and I also think that it deserves more attention.

At first, when reading the fragrance descriptions, I was actually convinced that I wouldn't like Marj Eau de Parfum.
Too much oud, too woody and leathery. This combination is often too heavy and too masculine for me. Nevertheless, the fragrance surprised me absolutely positively and it is completely different from what I had imagined.

"Marj" starts slightly citrusy with bergamot and a hint of tangerine, accompanied by a lovely sweet honey note.
The oud is very present right at the beginning. It is minimally "dirty" and slightly animalic, but in no way reminiscent of cowshed oud. Rather, it is resinous, woody-sweet and yet wonderfully warm and spicy.

In the heart note, the fragrance becomes more floral. A delicate rose, lovely sweet jasmine and orange blossom emerge. I also detect a hint of saffron and cinnamon.
These notes combine with cashmere and musk in their most beautiful form. This combination gives the fragrance a very beautiful soft, sweet and almost feminine creaminess that does not make Marj Eau de Parfum seem too heavy or masculine.

In the drydown, the fragrance changes again and becomes more fruity. A fresh, juicy pear emerges intensely, accompanied by raspberries. It is not a synthetic, but a very authentic raspberry note - slightly tart, but still juicy, berry-sweet.
The fruity notes recede slightly into the background, while leather comes in. The leather note is not coarse or earthy, but gentle, soft and supple.

The oud remains very present throughout the fragrance and plays the leading role throughout, while the floral notes are also clearly perceptible, but always remain in the background. Of all the other notes, I find the pear to be the most intense.

"Marj" is a unisex fragrance that tends to be masculine due to the oud, the woodiness and the leather. Nevertheless, the floral-fruity notes and gentle creaminess make it a fragrance that women can also wear very well.

The longevity is absolutely great. With just 3 sprays, I perceive it intensely for over 12 hours. It almost has a beast-fashion character and you should be careful not to overdose it.

The fragrance is very multifaceted and combines many scent nuances at once. It is fruity, floral, spicy, woody and oriental which makes it a true fragrance experience.
I think Marj Eau de Parfum is not an easy fragrance. You definitely have to like oud and should not buy it blindly, but definitely test it first.

I am very happy that I had the opportunity to test it and thus discovered a fragrance for myself that I liked so much that a bottle will certainly soon be allowed to move into my collection.

MARJ I Princess bottle with Beast Mode content I Oriental firecracker with beautiful, balanced complexity
I actually couldn't believe that no one had yet written a review of "Marj / مرج | Ahmed Al Maghribi". Yes, more and more "oriental fragrances" are coming to Europe, but most people mean Lattafa and the like. But there are also niche houses in the Orient that are really creative and higher priced with corresponding quality.

"Marj / مرج | Ahmed Al Maghribi" is one such fragrance; I have started to celebrate Ahmed Al Maghribi in general, so many top fragrances from this house! "Marj / مرج | Ahmed Al Maghribi" is a wolf in sheep's clothing; cute, sweet. The content, on the other hand, is effectively on steroids.... but more on that, let's get into "Marj / مرج | Ahmed Al Maghribi" :

- At the beginning, the fragrance is "fresh"; the bergamot is clearly noticeable in the opening, but only in the first few minutes, because at the same time the oud builds up, which is absolutely not animalic, but rather resinous-sweet and mixed with the light honey note simply very well balanced.

- Then the freshness recedes, the sweetness blends in the next phase with floral-creamy aspects, rose discreetly, cashmere, orange blossom and jasmine and an absolutely minimal green-earthy note of vetiver and patchouli. For untrained noses, this interplay smells brightly sweet and floral, but it is really top-notch.

- In the drydown, the extremely soft oud gains weight again and blends with a great pear on an ambery base, subtle raspberry in the shade of the pear. However, this fruitiness is optimally overshadowed by a more perceptible leather note, so that the fragrance never becomes overly sweet and sweet, but is balanced by the leather.

- The longevity is - sorry for my choice of words - brutal. It's a board - the fragrance lasts forever. If you love projection monsters, you will also get a fragrance that projects massively on top of its durability and that practically over the entire experience. You will be noticed, but with a low dosage (1-2 sprays) you can also wear it well in everyday life. With 5-10 sprays, you can be sure that the neighbor will smell through the walls.

In summary, the "Marj / مرج | Ahmed Al Maghribi" is definitely something that is for practiced noses to appreciate the complexity. But it also requires someone who really wants to be noticed and has the presence for it.

Marj opens fruity-floral with citrus, pear, rose and pink pepper, then settles into a sweet ambery musk with saffron, leather and oud.
