The earth trembles....
From a special perfume from Austria I got a sample of Al Mas (thanks again for that).
Due to the fragrance descriptions here in the forum, I have assumed that Al Mas will be similar to my beloved Asrar of Amouage...

So I put Asrar on the left and Al Mas on the right:

Al Mas starts explosive and at the same time wonderfully saffrony- sweet.... Then amber, spices, vanilla, even more spices, some rose, honey?, some wood, ....creamy, animal, sweet, dripping, teasing, Waaaooooo...! What a scent explosion...! The earth is shaking...! I am immediately enraptured, in love, excited, fascinated, simply carried away! What a force!!!

For a short moment, my breath stays away! Just like the first sniff of Asrar...!

Compared to Asrar, Al Mas is a lot sweeter and more animalistic... you can compare the two already, nevertheless they are completely different...

Al Mas doesn't develop very much on my skin, but that's ok! All components are available immediately after application... Only the woodiness penetrates a little more after approx. 3 hours, but does not cover the other beautiful fragrances under any circumstances.....

What I particularly like about Al Mas is the strong saffron note - I love saffron and get my money's worth here!
If you don't like saffron, you might be a bit overwhelmed here ;-P

I for my part had to have Asrar then simply :)

Honeyed oudy cereal with sunwarmed tar :)
Sunwarmed oudy tar on wooden docks/piers over a honeyed cedar base that gives off an almost cereal note. No Tribute ash or edge here, this is wellbalanced, round and the oud to me gives off a Montale feel more than an Amouage. But perhaps I'm just used to think Montale when it comes to oud. Hours later the rose has peeked out adding a floral soapy feel that gets softer and lighter, less soapy and more floral as time passes, finally returning to a soft more feminine than masculine oud in the end. Without loosing the lushness of the rose introduced. Absolutely beautiful! Thank you a million times for this sample! You know who you are :)

Saffron-oud-combination reminds somewhat of "Asrar", but this composition is bit softer; rose is well presented in the background. Deep!
