48 hours of areej!
I recived my bottle of cuirtis and i was super excited for my blind buy! I sprayed it on and i was in shock. It opened up witha extremely strong dark forest scent which filled up my whole house within minutes. The leather is crazy strong in the perfume but the moss, birch tar and juniper berry note sticks out also. I had it on my skin on a full 48 hours and could still fell it! cuirtis isnt for someoone who wants a good daily scent. Its for the people who really appriciates the scent and the masterpiece. Personally i would recommend cuirtis but only those who dares will try it...

Leather brother
I find this formula successful in this collection. The start is animalic and my nose perceives a sweetish note as if it were hay, very pleasant. The scent is dark but not too dark, with undertones of birch tar (very far from CdR), which I find to be a tamer brother to W&P2. I can perceive the evolution clearly, feeling the leather softer here, lots of castoreum but zero floral parts. I think it's safe enough for a blind purchase by those who have already experimented with ALD, with decent portability

The leather that doesn't smell like leather
I was talking to @Ceesie about leather notes that don't really smell like leather, at least to me, and I think I've figured out the culprit: Cuir de Russie. Cuir de Russie is an accord, named after Cuir de Russie Parfum, much like the "fougere" accord/base is named after Fougère Royale (1882) Parfum. And I think it has as much to do with leather as fougeres do with ferns. It's a fantasy accord, meant to evoke the feeling of leather rather than exactly copying the scent 1-to-1 like Tuscan Leather Eau de Parfum does for example. Tuscan Leather-esque accords make me feel like I'm sniffing a leather jacket or the inside of a leather purse; Cuir de Russie accords...don't.

Now why am I talking about all this? Because I sprayed on Cuirtis thinking I was gonna get something in the vicinity of Le Gemme - Falkar or The Voice of the Snake but it is instead mostly a floral scent with hints of smoke and animalics, and not leather at all. Well, at least not the 1-to-1 recreation of leather I was expecting. The "leather" note indicated on the pyramid supplied on the ALD website is actually "Cuir de Russie," which is translated here as "Russian leather," but is really the aforementioned accord rather than some specific type of leather from Russia. Iris and violet dominate, and although castoreum's voted as being the most apparent note, I believe the animalics are weaker here than in other ALDs, like War and Peace III Extrait de Parfum or Antiquity II Extrait de Parfum for example. It's alright, but definitely not the endgame leather I was expecting, or even leather at all.

Dark primal leather
A thick and dark, elegant leather fragrance. I perceive it as more masculine.
We have birch tar here, which, combined with castoreum, does the job here, creating the scent of thick tanned leather, a bit animalistic and primeval. This fragrance has quite a strong scent, surrounded by oak moss and delicately noticeable violet leaves. These are the notes I can feel and for me it is one of my favorite scents of this edition of ALD released under the slogan "Musk Collection". Longevity and projection are very good.
PS. It reminds me most of Prissana's Chetyre (by Prin Lomros).

Aromatic, smoky leather chypre
Cuirtis opens with the most divine, almost mouthwatering accord of sweet, cuminy bread, a fruity dill, aromatics, and a peach-skin osmanthus. This may sound odd, but I love the effect. I think the word I’m looking for here is hawthorn. There is a familiar chord here that stirs up some good scent memories for me, one I can only really identify as being broadly ‘peak L’Artisan Parfumeur’ in tone – a touch of the dry, smoky (but also fruity) nagamortha of Timbuktu, some of the complicated whiskey-vetiver-old orris soap of Dzongkha, and even a touch of the sweet, armpitty doughnut of Al Oudh, perfumes that have fallen slightly out of fashion or have been discontinued but still remain part of my personal perfume hall of greats.

The dry, smoky birch tar, when it bursts through this almost watery-fruity-aromatic dillweed layer, does indeed smell like a fine cuir, but not one produced by Chanel or Dior. Rather, I smell a lot of Ambre Fétiche (Annick Goutal) here, with its parched, leathery benzoin simplicity – also characterized by a strong birch tar note, by the way – as well as a sliver of the melony smoke of Breath of God by Lush and some of the watery, metallic violet leaf and hay dandiness of the late, great Cuir Pleine Fleur (Heeley).

Thus far, this review has been one long run-on sentence of other perfume references, but I am not suggesting that Cuirtis is overly referential. Indeed, it is very much its own animal. But whenever I bump into a smell that jolts me back in time to 2014 when I was happily discovering the perfume greats on my own, I scramble to triangulate the references in my perfume mind palace so that I can settle on the source of the big feelings I am feeling. Though ultimately I can’t identify what single element is triggering me in Cuirtis, I rather love for its own good self. It is incredibly aromatic, herbal tincture-like, but also sweet, smoky, and dry, all at once.

Greasy castoreum, dusty cumin, smoky birch (bitter, earthy) juxtaposed with fruits, honey and vanilla. Balanced, wearable; leather endgame.

Creamy blueberry rubber ball. Hints of tar, strong hints of musk (absent in the notes). Started checking bankaccount straight away.

In my opinion, the best fragrance from Adam's latest collection. Creme de la Creme is very close, but Cuirtis is great in every phase.

Running your hand through the grime of a soggy beaver. Oily, greasy, fishy, butch. If Chanels CDR is a dainty frenchman, this is a brute.

Cuirtis rides in with dusty leather, whisky, iris and a trail of smoky birch tar. A rugged outlaw, sweetened by vanilla and midnight wind.

Sweetish castoreum, leather and delicate birch tar, very distant from CDR, but closer to less complex W&P

Very strong castoreum perfume. This is in no way fecal, although very strong and intense. Perfect for someone who wants a strong animalic.

Strongly animalic with an oily feel, spices and smoky oud. After braving the initial beastly blast, a beautiful, sweeter animalic leather.
